My old roommate was female. She used to say "if men had periods it would be national law of one week's vacation a month during this time."

Women are a tad on the irrational end during menses

Dude, I've got to tell ya, I am "a tad on the irrational end" 24/7. It has nothing to do with menses. If you ask my husband, he'll tell you I am the same as I was BEFORE the hysterectomy and bilateral salpingoopherectomy. No, I don't do the hormone replacement thing either.

That being said, WHAT did you do?

If you would like me to PM you with a rather graphic, yet clinical description of what it can be like during menses, let me know.

BTW, listen to Tweety. He's very smart.

No thats just the thing, i didnt DO anything! Go to the student section and read my thread "Nightmare. Bullying" And i wasnt serious about the OP, it was a joke of relief to just state that I learned my lesson with female politics!

You know, I've always wondered about PMS and its....role.... in female explanations of their moods. I understand cramping, annoying timing and all that, but irrationality really confuses me. Not so much in that it happens, but that it is allowed to escape into the public unchecked. Do females not think "this is a strange thought, maybe I should mull it over before I voice it audibly?"

I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this one, and I'm prepared for it, I just don't understand that's all. The number of times I've been given the evil eye, yelled at, stormed off from or just plain gotten mad at for reasons beyond my control I cannot count. What's even stranger is the fact the minutes, hours or a few days later I usually end up getting an apology. Here is my point...why not wait, think it through, not get mad and save the apology?

Alright you ladies in the males forum...have at it, I'm ready.

You're missing our point, I'm afraid. The whole PMS thing is not driven by intellect, it's driven by emotion - and varying hormone levels.

Would you attempt to rationalize with anyone in the midst of a 'Roid Rage? No, you wouldn't. So my advice is unless the woman is your patient, just steer clear and maintain her dignity and your sanity.

It's no fun for her to be completely out of control, either.

Before this really gets rolling, let me clarify 1 thing...I did not say anything about PMS or being female relating to intellect. I work with a mostly female crowd and I would say the vast majority are more intellectual than I am. Just wanted to get that straight.

I guess what I'm trying to say (ask maybe) is....you know it's coming, it comes every month, so why does it still control some people?

I'm just glad I'm a guy. I guess ignorance is bliss.
