1. took my bsn for 4 yrs. graduated from ust: 2007.
It seems there shouldn't be an issue here if you're going to be enrolled in a BP school anyway.
2. yes, bec it's actually one of their reqs,to have idp (in my case) send your ielts score directly to ahpra...
In that case, I wonder why your case officer had to bring up the NCLEX-RN and CGFNS exams? Unless you're being considered for "In-Principle" registration. (not sure about the term; there are a couple of forumers here who were not required to undergo BP because they previously worked in US hospitals as RNs.)
By the way, your IELTS result has scores of 7 and/or above in each component, right?
3. yes, they're requiring at least 20 hours/yr and but i got confused with this one, how would they know if you took that ie. seminar for hours or less? my other certs dont have the total # of hours printed . and btw, thanks for your reply.
Usually, the number of units are equivalent to the number of hours the seminar/workshop was taken. How many are the total units of your seminars or how many hours did it actually take you to have your CPD?
If you're planning to re-send the SAME documents to AHPRA-QLD, then there wouldn't be any changes to their assessment of your application, as well. It would be better to have your application packet forwarded to other states, if you're allowed to do so. Let's wait for others to answer your question. Good luck!
yes, that's also a requirement, to have a score of at least 7 in all components.
exactly, i dont even know the point of sending the same certs if those were already submitted initially. but i only gained 2 more additional certs since i submitted my reqs last feb. i also received my eligibility letter from nclex-ny this month but i have yet so sched my exam. as for the CPD requirememt, is that a major ground for them not to even offer me a bridging course?

That will be very helpful as most of us here learned a lot from it.
hi there. sorry for late reply.. my sister has a friend in Perth, so i might be staying there. I haven't started the online course yet. im going to pay my tuition fee tomorrow. how about u, ur accommodation? have u started the online course?
im so glad you are for march intake. can i have your email so we can communicate easily? at least someone here is for march intake. are you going to take the March 11, IHNA Perth campus?
@drummerracer
I don't see anything wrong with your qualifications. Even without the required CPD units/hours, you should still be eligible since its not a requirement for initial registration anyway. And I don't see the point of asking an NCLEX or CGFNS result. Because whether you have it or not, if you did not practice in the US, they will still give you the same outcome and that is to take a BP.
Here's what you can do:
-check all the documents and forms that you sent just to make sure everything is what its supposed to be.
-assess your documents and see if it matches the criteria for registration (overseas nurses). I'm positive that you meet the criteria.
-if everything seems perfect, have a good talk to your case officer and point out that you submitted the required documents and its likely that you will submit the same documents on your "appeal".
@ sabinenoelleim so glad you are for march intake. can i have your email so we can communicate easily? at least someone here is for march intake. are you going to take the March 11, IHNA Perth campus?
hi khlei87, i'm also for the march intake. have you completed the online course?
I am planning to enroll in UniSA or Deakin. (November or October intake is good for me) However, I think I might have some difficulties later.....
Back 2010 when cioman originally posted a thread about new Filipino graduates, I got interested and researched what school offers the cheapest BP and I stumbled upon Hollywood Hospital from which they informed me it was 4000 aud. However, at that time I was pregnant so I didn't apply.
So fast forward, here I am awaiting for AHPRA assessment which was submitted last May. Another thing is that I am bound for Libya next month for nursing job- for a year. So it's quite critical for me that AHPRA delays their assessment, quite the opposite of many nurses on this forum.
Another mistake on my part is that I have not foreseen that timing is of the essence during application. IELTS expires within 2 years, AHPRA letter of offer expires within 1 year (might be considered for extension up to 6 months but that is not a guarantee.) Visa application must be 4 months prior to commencing of the course and lastly BP courses have different intakes. Some of the BP schools have not renewed their registration. I bought skype unlimited to call Australia for 500php/month (approximate) so I have confirmed it with these schools:
St Vincent’s & Mercy Private Hospital- 03 9411 7331
Hollywood Private Hospital, Nedlands- 08 9346 6485
(Of course, I might be wrong so you can double check it.)
When the right time comes, I might need to travel just to get my medicals. It says on the website Tripoli hospitals only and I will be assigned in Benghazi. Is this okay, can I apply student visa while I am overseas? I am not sure if I did the right thing to pursue application or is it better to withdraw?
For sure I will have to take IELTS so I can register. My IELTS will expire April 2013.
I'd just like to mention that good thing allnurses has an android app which helps you track your favorite threads. It stays on whatever page you have not read and not back to page 1. Off topic- sorry, just cant help it.
