hello to everyone!

if I may ask, can i use the checklist that can be found here: http://mcintranet.musc.edu/clined/PCTStudentTech/CON Nsg Skills Checklst MUSC.pdf for my CV? but this was also used by one of the members here. do you think it's ok? because i noticed that it's complete and comprehensive...

but im a nurse in a medical-surgical unit, so do i need to include the newborn/ob skills?(although i observed those skills back in college)

thanks for the help

Hi. When did you lodge your application to Queensland? How long was their extension?

i lodged my application last July 2011, and by the last week of august 2011 i already have the results.. they did not accept my application for registration as RN during that time, but enrolled nurse. so i have to appeal and submit other supporting docs before their deadline which is sept 19 2011.. so before the deadline, i submitted the needed documents.. then october, i already received my eligibility --they considered my application. too bad i was not able to find a BP school that early.. im glad i had my eligibility extended from oct 2012 to may 2013..because i am for jan 2013 at ETEA.. :)

Hi, you might consider taking a look on this website. Its more detailed and comprehensive. This is the one I used as reference before and I got no problem.. :)

AusPhilRN: Standard CV/Resume for Overseas Trained Nurse

But I guess not in APHRA VIC. I just don't understand why APHRA's decision/policy varies in different states.

yeah.. i heard that too.. and sometimes, ahpra grants extension depending on what bp school you are in.

thank you for the reply, but what i mean here is the reference for CLINICAL/PROCEDURAL SKILLS that is a part of APHRA's standard CV... so i want to clarify if it's fine to use this http://mcintranet.musc.edu/clined/PC...cklst MUSC.pdf for my CV, even though, somebody already used it in the past. what did you use on this part of CV? thanks

Hi everyone.

I would just like to ask about the whole "extension, finishing the bridging program with an expired LOE" issue.

Um from what I understand is, once you're given an eligibility letter, you're undergoing an assessment. So they've (AHPRA) received your documents and everything but the one thing that you're lacking is the "bridging course." So they've given us a year to complete everything, including the bridging program. Based on what the forumers have been saying in allnurses, everyone should complete their bridging program within the one year validity of our letters. If we do finish our bridging program, but our LOE's have already expired, we have to reapply for another assessment, or another "eligibility letter." And that's another $540 AUD for the app fee, which I prefer not pay for the second time. I guess by that time, if you we do reapply for another assessment, they would consider our application and not anymore recommend a bridging program since we've already taken one and we can now push through with the registration as a Australia RN smoothly.

The only problem here is, I don't want to pay another $540 just to be assessed again if I can get in an earlier intake than May.

That's how understood everything. But, I've already sent AHPRA an inquiry regarding that this morning and i'm still waiting for their response.

If anyone could share their input, please do clarify everything.

good plan.. but will this assure us the registration after? what if we get reassessed but was not granted the eligibility after? what can we do?

@vitug.annie

Is it the same nowadays with Queensland? Are they still that quick?

I called AHPRA again just now.. The officer told me that extensions depend on the letter you receive - which means, not all the Eligibility Letter are the same. At first, she told me that it depends. After a while, she said, look for the earlier slot for school. Then, she said, if not, you need to repeat the process of re-applying again. Back to zero - all documents must be send and all the fees must be paid..
