Is it the same nowadays with Queensland? Are they still that quick?

i am not really sure.. my agency did the whole thing.. some students get their loe in as fast as two weeks.. see phil american agency's facebook page.

I called AHPRA again just now.. The officer told me that extensions depend on the letter you receive - which means, not all the Eligibility Letter are the same. At first, she told me that it depends. After a while, she said, look for the earlier slot for school. Then, she said, if not, you need to repeat the process of re-applying again. Back to zero - all documents must be send and all the fees must be paid..

even if I have my visa already? all docs complete? including the school?

in my case how can reapply? that might cause me problems after with the government. because as I understand it, to renew you would have to withdraw your current application first..

can't find Phil american agency on facebook.. can you send me their link? maybe they can help me.

This is just a part of our conversation:

ME: Even if I provide you proofs that I am really enrolled for the intake?

AHPRA: What do you mean proof?

ME: Like, Certificate of Enrollment, those proof that I was really enrolled on that intake. I just need a 1 month extension for me to finish the program.

AHPRA: Then, why you not enroll earlier.

ME: Its very difficult to find the school Maam, and that's the earliest they could offer.

AHPRA: You need to re-apply again.

ME: You mean, send docs again? Pay everything again? How is the process of re-applying like?

AHPRA: Yes.. you need to send everything again..

*The way she answered my inquiries, I know already that she will not be really considerate.

Hello.

Are slots for La Trobe University May 2013 intakes already open for application? Thank you.

Exactly, I am asking for a more detailed step by step, but she insists on saying "send everything again, repeat the process". She seems not to be interested at all, to think that they dont have any idea what it feels like. I didnt have the chance to ask if I can have my documents transferred to another state because of her lack of approach.

Hi everyone.

So I've already received an email both from AHPRA and LTU's Admission's Coordinator and so far the issue of "expiring letter of eligibility during the bridging program" has not been clarified, it's actually been more confusing.

I emailed AHPRA that the next available intake in LTU would be in May. If ever I do apply for that intake, i'll be finishing the BP sometime in August and my LOE would've already expired by then. I asked AHPRA what would be the implications if that happened and the case officer sent me this email:

Dear Marc,

Thank you for your recent enquiry to AHPRA.

You mentioned that you will be finishing the Bridging Program sometime in August and I can see that your Eligibility will be expire on the 3/08/2013, I am wondering if you can provide me with an accurate date of completion?

If this date is beyond your expiry date, there is a good chance that your application may be found incomplete and therefore withdrawn.

Were you able to contact any other Education Providers that offer this program and that can enroll you in earlier?

Please do not respond to this email as the account is not monitored. A service request has been logged for this enquiry; your service request number is (VIC*********).

If you have any further questions, please call AHPRA on 1300 419 495. Alternatively, please follow the web enquiry link, ensuring you include the service request number in your enquiry.

Simultaneously, I was in contact with LTU's Admission's Coordinator and told her about this issue. Her input was in contrast with what the case officer has told me. Here's the coordinator's email:

Dear Marc,

It is interesting that your case officer has stated that, as the University has been given approval from AHPRA regarding the validity of the commencement date as per the following email (regarding another student):

Dear ******,

Thank you for your email.

As long as the letter is valid at the time they commence the program they will still be eligible for registration upon the completion of the program, assuming that they pass that is.

She will still be eligible for registration even though her letter expires prior to the completion of the course.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly on ********* or through email ***********@ahpra.gov.au

Sincerely

With everything that's been said, i'm completely confused right now. So, I've emailed AHPRA again regarding this matter. In the meantime, I've told LTU's coordinator to hold my application until I get a response from AHPRA. By the way, the next available intake for LTU is on the 7th of June 2013.

Hi fellow applicants with expiring LOE esp patringrn and pringxoxo,

In case you will have no choice but to re-apply, will you lodge your application to AHPRA VIC? Or just try another state like QLD or NSW where kind and considerate case officers are found?

Hey mbtaRN,

I called up LTU a couple of hours ago and the lady whom I spoke with was amazed about the APHRA issue. Seems like it was her first time to hear the news. She told me that as long as my LOE is valid upon enrollment, it doesn't matter if it expires before I complete my BP. She was also saying that this issue is very alarming since it would affect their enrollment as well. She asked me to forward to her the email I received from APHRA.

Just basing upon the agreement LTU has with APHRA, I suppose we don't need to request further extension for our BP from APHRA.

I hope so. Alright given that, would you wait until June of next year? Cause the Admission's Coordinator of LTU I have talked to said that their next intake won't be until June of 2013.
