Hi are you going to pursue the ihna feb 2013 intake? I will be paying my enrolment fee this week.i hope we could be classmates/ dormmates (if ever you'll pay for their accommodation fees as well) :) my email add is [email protected] :)1 and half months is not enough @Stereo.. As I am also stuck for work overseas and I have prepared myself for IHNA's January intake which I applied on the first week of July. At that time, they told me they have a place for January intake but sadly, when I received my LOE it was for February.
Thanks for posting this.I guess we only have to pay 380 AUD since we have already paid the fee for annual registration which is 160 AUD during our first application. Given that we are not considered for registration yet, I think it's not reasonable to pay another registration fee again.
On my perception, I also don't mind paying re-assessment but not the registration fee.. but the point is AHPRA don't have/can't provide us specific process of re-registration and re-assessment.. I mean, they could not even answer "Are extensions really prohibited in all states? or only in Vic?". Because for me, if its only in Victoria, I'd rather ask them if there's a way for my registration docs to be transferred in other state that maybe will also provide me an extension.

Hi pinkmarjattheER,
I am still not sure. I will call them tomorrow to confirm. I will be glad to be your mate.. Will update you also once everything is final..
Send the application form with all other documents. After that, you can request for certificate of good standing. This document takes usually 2 weeks and then another week for mailing so it is okay to request early. For clinical and procedural skills, you can include the skills/procedures you have learned from school and from work.
ah ok...so it's fine if i do not provide those college materials as reference, i can just include it in my CV?thank you so much
yes people.. How?? :)
annelle and pinkmarjattheER,
If you are paying from Philippines, you can check banks like Metrobank, BDO, BPI and others if they can provide "Manager's Cheque in Australian Dollar for payment in Australia". You can either open an Australian Dollar account or Peso account amounting to the tuition fee to be paid for IHNA. Your bank will then issue you 1 cheque: PAY TO: IHNA, with amount of $11000.00 (example only). Then, you can send it by mail to IHNA. Make sure you use a courier with tracking number when you send the cheque so you can monitor because once its lost, bank will charge you (only minimal charge for cancellation of cheque). But you dont have to worry, because only IHNA can withdraw the amount, even if its lost, no other people can take your money away. I believe IHNA will email you details like this.
Hi everyone.I would just like to ask about the whole "extension, finishing the bridging program with an expired LOE" issue.
Um from what I understand is, once you're given an eligibility letter, you're undergoing an assessment. So they've (AHPRA) received your documents and everything but the one thing that you're lacking is the "bridging course." So they've given us a year to complete everything, including the bridging program. Based on what the forumers have been saying in allnurses, everyone should complete their bridging program within the one year validity of our letters. If we do finish our bridging program, but our LOE's have already expired, we have to reapply for another assessment, or another "eligibility letter." And that's another $540 AUD for the app fee, which I prefer not pay for the second time. I guess by that time, if you we do reapply for another assessment, they would consider our application and not anymore recommend a bridging program since we've already taken one and we can now push through with the registration as a Australia RN smoothly.
The only problem here is, I don't want to pay another $540 just to be assessed again if I can get in an earlier intake than May.
That's how understood everything. But, I've already sent AHPRA an inquiry regarding that this morning and i'm still waiting for their response.
If anyone could share their input, please do clarify everything.
Hi! You can always ask for an extension without spending anything.. :)
