Hi ceridwyn

May I please know if one thing that can speed up the assessment will be depending on your CO? or from the school you have graduated? Are these factors considered? I' ve been waiting for 7 months. Can you please enlighten me.:( Thank you and God bless!:)

I don't think the school you finished your nursing degree from would be a factor. CO? maybe, but not usually the case. They process the applications based on when they received it. And because of the recent changes on how AHPRA deals with international applicants, that significantly increased the processing times as well.

You have to be mindful that there are probably thousands of applicants wanting to register from all over the world. Plus the thousands of nurses who renewed their registrations in May.

Hi deepee87. I've been waiting about the same as you. I received an email of extension for 90 days..

hi markusuno, i lodged my application last october, it's been 8 mos and still no update. i did not receive an email about an extension. what is it for?

Good day nurses! Anybody here tried applying through magsaysay/care-with-care bound to Aus?

Hi, she_pinayRN. It's an extension to reach a decision. The email said this will avoid my application being refused because of the passage of time.

Have you sent them a follow-up email?

I did, numerous times. My registration officer hasn't mentioned anything about that. I'll have to ask her. When did you complete your IQNM requirements?

Did you get a confirmation that they received your documents? I got a confirmation first then I received an email regarding the extension 3 months after.

I sent my IQNM requirements in February this year.

Keep right away from consultants, agencies etc, that promise you care giving, nursing jobs. They are not on the shortage list so therefore you will not be legally allowed to work or stay in Australia.

Those that offer study for assistant nurse, another waste of money as they too are not on the shortage list so therefore no visa to legally work. If you are a Registered Nurse aim for being a Registered nurse or Enrolled Nurse - though for the Registration board to accept you as an Enrolled Nurse is another matter, but they are the only 2 nursing professions on the skills needed list. (Not sure why as there is no shortage of either RN or ENs) Unless you are a highly skilled practitioner, usually theatre are the only ones that advertise sponsorship)

It seems that each week nurses join and have the same concerns. Most of us have been waiting for our LOE's for about 7 to 8 months now and getting indefinite update due to the high volume of applicants. I have learned that we should have more patience at this time since all we can do is wait. I am the type of applicant who emails my officer weekly and get the same response. I think the last time they released LOE's was last May. Let's continue to pray and hope it will come the soonest!:)
