Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

Hello everyone! i've been reading this forum for days now because i'm planning to take the IRON program next year. currently, i'm reviewing for ielts and i will take the exam this july. also, i'm now compiling the documents needed to be passed to ahpra after i passed the ielts. i still have difficulty in understanding the ahpra website but thanks to this forum i now understand the iqnm 1-8 criteria. i'm planning to process the reqs for criterion 2,3 & 8 earlier to save time.

i'm confused in filling up the AGOS-40 form especially section c beacuse its all about australian documents? can someone enlighten me please.

i read that all ahpra reqs will be processed in sydney. i'm planning to pass my documents in perth but with this news i'm afraid it will take longer. i really need to start my BP next year.

i have 2 years & 3 mos experience ( 1 year contractual secondary hospital, 1 year rn heals, 3 mos trainee). will that be enough? i heard that 3 years experience is needed? is this true?

i'll wait for any reply. thank you. =D

@om'sarah may I know how did you process your Good Standing, in which Saudi council will send it directly to APHRA, I really need some help here guys, I already have my other requirements except for this. This seems impossible.thanks

For nurses who needs a Certificate of Good standing from Saudi Council directly mailed to AHPRA, you need to go to the main Saudi Council office in Riyadh, which is located in the Diplomatic Quarters. The Saudi Council office in Riyadh is the only office that can arrange the mail for you, other Saudi Council main offices such as Jeddah and Dammam will not entertain your request.

You need to visit the SCFHS website so that you can submit a COGS request and make an online payment thru Sadad or deposit the payment thru an account number provided by the Saudi Council so that they can electronically mail the COGS to your email. It only takes 3-4 days for the electronic COGS to arrive in your inbox. Once you download the Saudi Council Certificate of Good Standing from your email, print a hardcopy and bring this hardcopy to the main office in Riyadh. There. Is a department called "Support Services" in which they're in-charge of mailing COGS to any destination that you want thru ARAMEX or FedEx. They will provide a tracking number so that you can trace the delivery as well.

I hope this information would help a lot of nurses who are working in Saudi Arabia at the same time, arranging for AHPRA requirements. If you're not in Saudi Arabia anymore, you can let someone you know in Saudi Arabia, arrange the request for you.

Hi @Kimchesk, SCFHS main office is located in Riyadh and that is way too far from my place. I went to Saudi Council Jeddah and asked help from them. At first, they refused to grant my request. Then, one of them gave me an SCFHS envelope, they stamped and sealed it together with the certificate with their address written on it , he then told me to send it to the nearest courier centre near their office using the address given. AHPRA NSW accepted my Cert of Good Standing. At present, I am waiting for the final board meeting for the final assessment of my documents.

@omsarah How long have you been waiting now?

It's been 6 months now since I submitted my application. How about you?

PAMU, I think 2 years experience is good but I prefer if you have 3+ years experience as employed FULLTIME RN because aside from the bridging program, you can use that experience in applying ANMAC assessment prior to pr application. My batch this year is planning to apply for pr after we receive our license because there is a small chance to get sponsorship nowadays.

I just want to ask regarding IQNM Criterias 2 and 3, do I have to request for certificates or just the letters from the education provider and CHED? or certificates are automatically provided together with the letters? thank you guys..

thanks for the reply. i haven't read about the ANMAC assessment, can you explain it to me? what is pr application? is that after the bridging and you get your license? what is the advantage of ANMAC assessment or is it really required?

so many questions. sorry. i will wait for your reply or anyone who is willing to explain.

last question: did anyone heard about 1 year post registration course for international nurses who wants to work in aussie? i heard from my friend that La trobe & deakin university offers this kind of course?

ANMAC Skills Assessment is a requirement for migration to Australia as a Permanent Resident (PR). It's basically an assessment of the equivalency of your overseas qualification to that of an Australian qualification (e.g your BSN is equivalent to an Australian's Bachelor of Nursing, etc) and whether you are suitable for migration or not. It's a safeguard for the Australian government to ensure that all migrants are job-ready. In order to be successful on this, you have to register to AHPRA first.

PR application, is just that, an application for a permanent resident visa.

The one-year post-registration that you are referring to is possibly the conversion program? It's very expensive and obviously takes longer to complete. The bridging program is your cheapest and shortest bet.

Guys, I need your help..I just want to ask regarding IQNM Criterias 2 and 3, do I have to request for certificates or just the letters from the education provider and CHED? or certificates are automatically provided together with the letters? Also, for the CV, aside from the applicant, who should sign it, the chief of hospital, head nurse or chief nurse? thank you..
