Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

Were you not granted the multiple entry visa when you undergone the bp?i am currently working here in saudi also and doing a lot of research about this whole process.

My college which was IHNA arranged the subclass 600 visitor's visa for me and I applied this visa independently when I came back to the Philippines in Nov 2013. And yes this visa type is a multiple entry for a YEAR and per entry I get to stay for 90 days (be sure to leave on or before the 90th day back to your origin country- Philippines; and I am not allowed to work (conditions of this visa).

Well thats the big challenge now finding work after the bridging, i think it would be better if you have relatives or friends in australia so you can stay there while looking for sponsor,i've read a post in tis forum before that employers favor applicants who are in australia :)

Hi Jems! Can I ask which agency or website or company you are hired with your job at present? Or other companies who considered you even you are an International trained RN registered inAustralia without rights to work (e.g. PR visa/ working visa or student visa)?

I am here in canberra, sponsored directly by a hospital. I applied on my own without the help of any agencies. I applied each and every hospital there are here in aust. Do that in the website, myhospitals.gov.au

Hope that'll help. God bless and good luck :)

Just be patient and pray. When you pray, be specific.. :)

It is difficult to give advice when you do not state what you do know.

The answer is, you are still an international educated nurse applicant and therefore apply on the same form as as every other international nurse through AHPRA using the overseas educated nurse form.

Hello Ceridwyn. Im just wondering, how do i do this? i was in the middle east for 3 years and i'm currently in d US for vacation. We plan to do our entry to Melbourne next month. I am confused because in AGOS 40 form, there's mailing and permanent address. Or should i just wait till im in melbourne to register? How about the certificate of good standing & school credentials? Can i process it and mail even before I've applied???

I'd really appreciate if u can enlighten me. Thanks

Hi, Good Day Everyone!

I would like to get futher clarifications/inputs for those who are familiar with the AHPRA registration. I have already studied and tried to understand the registration requirements from AHPRA website, so far what confuses me right now is that (based on the the reading I made from another forum) : - Do I need to get first an ANMAC assessment before I can submit the General Registation Form (AGOS 40) to AHPRA OR I can submit the form directly without going thru ANMAC assessment?

(My Background Details)

I am Pinay RN, with RN certification also from KSA & Singapore. I just got my Australian PR (thru my Husband's application since he was the Primary applicant for our Visa). Now I want to process the necessary documentation and registration requirements for AHPRA (hopefully) before we land in Australia this year.

Appreciate much for your response and assistance. Thanks

Hi! mtruzan17. I just wanna ask if you're done with your registration by now? I'd really appreciate your reply coz I have the same case as yours.. thanks a lot!

I am also an internationally trained ER RN in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Finished BSN in Philippines. Have 2 years and 8 months experience- 2 years and 5 months in ER. Can I ask you a question how you go about applying with an Australian employer who will sponsor? Where did you locate this employer? you are very fortunate at times like this, where Internationally-trained RN who have Australian RN lic , are left hanging in their applications or desperate to go back but takes time.

My history includes the ff:

- I got my registration last May 2014 after BP in a college in Melbourne. I went back to Philippines on May 2014 and got my hardcopy AHPRA cert via mail here in the Philippines- RN Div 1. Independently (like what I did to my AHPRA and college processing), my plan now is applying for PR 190, because it seems like I have too many rejections in my series of applications online in differenthospitals in Australia. I can be qualified (at 60 points) for PR 190 or 189 at present. Some of my RN friends in Australia advise me to take risk in applying for PR asap. Few of them advise otherwise beacuse it will take linger compared to applying as a student visa (affordable courses diploma in business).

At Present: Independently, I am applying for ANMAC assessment just in case. I also read news that all applications of international nurses will be handled by AHPRA-Sydney. If it like this, will it take time for them to process a good standing certificate?

Any advices to my fellow allnurses members are very much welcome? May be this is the most difficult situation where I am in right now. But I am confident I can do this, been processing independently my bridging til AHPRA RN.

P.S. I cannot send PM here yet and can only read you PM.

B_cell, I just graduated from IHNA this month. We're on the same boat and I'm also planning to apply for PR. I might come back here in Oz after receiving my ANMAC assessment result which takes 3 months. I'll just come back here if everything else is sure and will try to submit cv via online.

There's a lot of vacancies but they seldom give sponsorships but there's still hope.Keep in touch.

Hi... Can someone advise me on how to apply for a visa.... I am now waiting for the ahpra's decision... Thanks big time!
