Ah, I see. You're not practicing anymore? Im really not sure if what they meant for "at least 2 years experience, within the past 12 months" is experience since you passed your application to UniSa or from their September intake. Lets all hope and pray for the best. Did you apply in AHPRA also? so u have another option.
hi jdyboy! it's from the september intake. yes i have an application but still awaiting for ahpra's decision. it has been 2 months now. imreally hope i could get in unisa's september intake. i resigned already and im focusing on my application. :-)
I think unisa accepts applicants even without aphra decision yet. I applied with them last october 2013 for april 2014 intake and they forwarded me conditional letter after 3 weeks assessment of my application. I applied without aphra registration.

hi chuckie, im about to finish my clinical placement next week. Well, it depends on which hospital you will be placed. Some students are placed in rural areas and others in bigger hospitals. Sometimes it depends on how busy and how heavy the workload of the hospital. I had 3 weeks placement in an orthopedic ward, mainly post op patients from hip and knee replacement. I struggled at first because I still dont know the routine. But at the end of first week, I was able to anticipate what the nurses usually do. I find it hard with the medication, because they check the medications directly from the chart. IV antibiotics are given using syringe infusor, sometimes mixed with 100mls Normal Saline through infusion pump. They use Schedule 8 drugs most of the time for pain management and 2 rns must check the drug. On your 2nd and 3rd week will be easy. On my fourth week, I was placed in a medical ward which has a heavy workload. So its different from orthopedic ward and I have to adjust again but its not that difficult anymore. Goodluck to you. Which school are you from btw?
