Part 2 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand
I have started a thread in the Immigration for Immigration requirements for Australia/New Zealand
this thread is very informative, i'm collating docs as well to send my ahpra application soon.
Now, i have a story to share, i know there are few been asking about it esp those PH RN's working overseas in a way you will be inspired to try your luck. Two of my filipino wardmates both RN with 5-8yrs working experience {4yrs PH,4yrs SG} was exempted from taking bridging program and this was just recently, i myself was surprised and crossing my fingers that i will be too given i have 7yrs of work experience and currently working in SG. I'm not really sure what basis ahpra had for that, so for those on the same boat, let's go try our luck.
goodluck everyone.

Did they also complied with the new requirements (IQNM Criteria 2, 3, 4)?
I think the IQNM requirements is their criteria if one has to undergo Bridging or not. If all IQNM has been met, you are exempted from taking the Bridging program. -- This is how I understood it.
So, if you have not met all requirements... you will be required to take the Bridging course... Correct me if I'm wrong.
Need help! went to CHED to ask for certification, My school is under AACCUP. Showed the lady in charge the APHRA letter and Template, But they ABSOLUTELY refuse to use said aphra template as they have their own format for such things. Can anyone advised me on this. Emailed my case officer about it, haven't received a reply yet.
Hi there Majai! I would like to ask something that's related to your question. It wasn't stated in the 8 criterion that we should be sending work experience certificates, or was it? I didn't know APHRA also requires this one. Please enlighten me, if it's not too much to ask. Thank you :-)
Meeting all the criteria doesn't exempt one from taking the bridging course. It's basically just a safeguard in ensuring that all overseas-educated RNs meet the documentary requirements. It's the same principle for an Australian-educated RN wishing to register to AHPRA in that their nursing degree should be accredited. They just want to know that you graduated from an accredited school and not just a scam nursing school.
I don't think they will exempt overseas-educated RNs from taking the bridging program other than the ones from the already exempted countries. The reason why some PH nurses got the exemption is because they worked in one of the exempted countries, UK, NZ, USA, Canada, Ireland, SG, HK.
@ nina therese, the answer to your question is in the anmac website. Providing work experience post graduation is one of their minimum requirements. They are like the board of nursing, they are also under aphra which is like the prc here in philippines. Meaning you have to fulfill both anmac and aphra requirements for your application to be assessed.

No. Enrolled nurses in Australia have different competencies. I think I read it on AHPRA website.
