Hi there, I would like to ask a question, I am a registered nurse from the Philippines who has 2 years and 5 months experience in the last 5 years. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1998 and I also completed my Diploma in Public Education in 2004. Lastly, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing on 2009. But before I took my first degree, I took a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy for 3 years yet I did not finish it so I shifted my course to Business Administration. Are my qualifications enough to have positive skills assessment? Is my nursing degree equivalent to an australian bachelor degree?
nursingpinas,
They will only assess your nursing degree. They wont bother looking at your BSBA and Public Education degree as they are totally unrelated to nursing. They might ask for the transcripts, though, if the subjects are credited towards your BSN, i.e minor subjects.
And no, you won't have a positive skills assessment based on your qualifications. You have to undergo a bridging program and register under AHPRA before you get the positive skills assessments.
iamnomad , Can i be registered as an enrolled nurse instead beacause i dont have the financial capacity to support my bridging program fees and stuff. I also heard that MY RN DEGREE is equivalent to a AUSTRALIAN DIPLOMA which is a qualification of an enrolled nurse.
I don't know if you could coz I have not heard of anyone who've done it. I guess you can try and apply.
@balongmeow and to everyone:

Roxie,
Actually, you are right that your preferred route is shorter in duration despite the heavy price tag but only when it comes to AHPRA registration. But you are actually wrong regarding the 2 years graduate visa, which I assume is the subclass 485. In order to qualify for that, you would have to study 2 years in Australia.
