I have started a thread in the Immigration for Immigration requirements for Australia/New Zealand
I am not allowed to send pm yet.I want to know how was the clinical part of the program? I just want to have an idea.. Thank you.
Clinical part is totally like in how we did clinical duty in our nursing course. We get buddied for the day whoever RN is on shift. It also totally depends which hospital you were assigned to. They have a standard placements of 4 weeks in Aged care and 5 weeks in acute care. Mostly the places are rural so action is less but nevertheless you would learn alot. You will get to know the different drug names and procedures and standards but it is mostly the same. And in Australia, depending on the hospital they also do venepuncture like in middleeast. If you want more details, ask me anything. There's 3 weeks theoretical to prepare you of the real deal so don't worry about that. They will orient you of the papers and the most common differences that foreigners find in the nursing practice for Australia. That is one of the good things Lonsdale is good at, you get a softened blow into the uncharted territories and they really take care of you.
about the required experience from schools and work, does it have to be recent? what if i stopped working as a nurse for a year with 3 yrs experience behind it, would it be accepted?
Hi FranzSeno! I was reading the thread and I just wanted to know have you already filed your application to AHPRA-NSW? I'm waiting for my eligibility which I was informed btw that the decision letter will be towards the last weeks of Oct.

Please helpI am so desperate with my situation as im graduating this year from BS Nursing in a university in Sydney. However, I cant pass my IeLTS requirements, which is 7. Can you suggest what should I do? Is there anyone in this forum who can share the experience in the similar situation as I have now?
I dont know what to do. My visa will end on February 2014. Should i get a men student visa course for a cheaper courae like business management while im trying to pass my IELTS, that way i can still stay here in Australia?
Please help, im so depress and desperate with my situation.
hi! have you considered taking OET instead of IELTS. i know somebody who had the same problem as yours. failed IELTS 3x in Australia. she took OET and passed it on 1 take. apparently OET is easier but more expensive than IELTS.
This forum really helped me a lot... I just want to ask help regarding where i'll submit my AHPRA application, in VIC or in NSW? im finding a hard time choosing between the two... and if in case I will submit my application in AHPRA VIC , i can study in another state for my bp? like in CON in Sydney? or should be in VIC as well? Thanks in advance! Anyway it's TRUE that OET is easier than IELTS based from experience. :)

Still planning to re-take this coming December.
In saudi arabia but i've seen in the OET website that there will be an exam on November 23 in the Philippines... OET is a professional based exam... the writing task is much easier than the IELTS, i didn't got the all 7 band as well when i took the IELTS 1x then i've heard about the OET... the only thing is it's more expensive compare to IELTS.

or perhaps study for the IELTS? It's all about test-taking strategies now since you already have an English language foundation.
