Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

I think, it is a case to case basis. After my Bridging Program, I also tried applying for jobs although at the back of my mind, I expect to receive reject letters because I haven't received my registration yet. However, when I went back to the Philippines after the BP, I received an invitation for interview. So I went back to Australia after 2 weeks to attend to my scheduled interview. During my conversation with the NUM, I noticed that she was holding the curriculum vitae, which I am very sure, it was the CV I used to submit during the time when I am not yet registered. So what I did is just gave her another copy of my updated CV and of course, my registration certificate.

hi miss annie, is it possible toadd you up in facebook or know your email add?

Guys,my letter of approval from ahpra will expire on July and my offer letter from ihna will start on September 23. Ahpra did not give me an extension. If I will re-apply, do I need to start all over again?

to anyone please kindly give me some tips regarding AAON interview.

thanks so much!!!!

Guys,is it ok to start the bridging program even if the letter of approval will expire before the intake?

I don't think so. You should settle that first woth AHPRA before committing to anything. You don't want to waste your money on tuition and visa application for nothing.

I don't know what to do. AHPRA did not give an extension. My letter of approval will expire on July 9, 2013. My intake will be on September. The registration officer told me to re-apply.. :(

What Mopples means is that none of the BP students has had any indication/interest from an employer

to come back after completing their course and apply.

There was a time when BP applicants were posting they were told that they had a job if they applied when they had finished and had

their registration, which always astounded me as this was when jobs were starting to come hard to come by.

Yep, one of the BP students asked the NUM if there were positions and she said no, they were not taking on anymore full time staff & for people to be sponsored, they had to be full time. They were also trying to looking for other advertised sponsored positions, but were having lots of trouble finding them.

It's now a directive at our hospital, if we feel the need to sponsor it has to go to the executive. We have been told to roster so that a localnurse with less experience can fill the position.

I heard hospitals are not to pick up any pr sponsorships as well.- those who are already on 457,
