Yes, I already have my visa. I'm not allowed to send any private msg as of now. Is everything ok with your application? Do you have your visa with you?

Hi DreamMeansWork!

I have been reading a lot about working as an Aussie RN from previous threads for a while now. I could definitely relate to you, considering you are a fresh grad with zero experience. I just want to ask, on what stage of the process are you in now? As for me, i intend to take the IELTS immedietely after i obtain my Phil RN license. Have you been eyeing possible bp schools while you wait for the IELTS exam? If yes, what are those?

I don't have my visa with me yet. Still for medical examination this week. I'm not sure if I can get my visa on time because I only received their offer letter last month and I got delayed with my medical exam because I had my monthly period just recently. ok I will send your a private message. hope to get in touch with you soon :)

Hi guys, I would like to know if there's anyone here who had their Eligibility Letter expired before they finish the bridging program? Please give me details on how you handle the situation. I will be taking January 2013 program but my LOE will expire on March 30, 2013. I asked AHPRA but they say they cannot provide any further extensions (even for just 1 or 2 weeks). I have read some of our members here, were able to apply extensions. How am going to do that on this case? :-(

Thank you very much.

hi! what school are you in? are you okay with your situation now? i had the same case.. where did you file your application? i had mine in ahpra, qld. i was granted with 7 months extension of my letter of eligibility. i just sent them a copy of my letter of offer.

Wow! Good for you! I have seriously thought of going to Australia to work. However, researching about the whole process have started to give me a headache already. I am confused and disoriented though i haven't actually taken a step yet. LOL! Since i haven't started on any step of the whole process, i hope you could give me an overview of the steps you took in order to arrive to where you are now. I hope to undergo this all by myself too, and not through an agency (i'm on a tight budget, unemployed and relying on mother for finances. haha)By the way, how many working years have you got? How long was the process (from taking the IELTS to 456 visa)? How much did you spend all in all? Do you think a fresh grad with no experience like me could ever set foot in Australia? I have started to feel desperate but upon reading your success story, it somehow gave me motivation. :D
Hi teeyara. I saw your post just now. Sorry for the late reply. I started out my paper works since 2010 for Ahpra. It was supposed to be a somewhat fast process and the replies from my registration officer were quite fast and useful. But I got pregnant in the middle of all my paperworks and was diagnosed with gdm, requiring lots of clinic visits in between my hectic work schedule as a registered nurse here in the UAE. After my delivery, around October 2011, I decided to pursue with my paperworks before my IELTS expired, by Jan 2012 I had my assessment from Ahpra with the LOE. So here I am finally packing my bags for August intake for my 3 month BP at Alpine Health. If all goes well, I can safely say that within 8 months you should have the LOE from Ahpra. You should not be needing an agent for the process, just be very strict with your paperworks before you send them in. That way you would not have any problem. As for the experience, I have nearly ten years bedside nursing and I suppose you could try working in clinics or any other place as long as your job description states that you are working as a registered nurse. That's what Ahpra wants. Please feel free to ask if you have any doubts. I would be glad to be of any assistance to you. All the best!

I sent mine June 30 in AHPRA VIC. I only received confirmation of receipt last July 12 and until now I haven't received any email from them. I emailed them and they told me to just wait for further instructions. Is this normal? Almost a month and still no news?

I had mine done in AHPRA QLD. the processing is very fast.. submiited my application in july, received a response in mid-august.. then after few days,i got the results already..
