hello everyone! just a query -- would anyone happen to know of any hospital/clinic/laboratory here in manila that has serology testing for MMR and varicella? or would getting the shots for these two be more advisable than the serology tests? TIA for replies.

Hi, I think it will be better to have a serology test for varicella and having.a shot for mmr. For the serology test try to inquire at medical city satellite clinics.

I (c/o mother) lodged my application at AHPRA-VIC last 28 June 2012. I just received my letter today, 31 July 2012.

I have to say I didn't expect such a swift response from them.

I didn't hire the services of an agency/consultancy firm, because I decided to cut costs and apply by myself. Indeed, I spent so much time, money and effort to complete the documents. It wasn't a joke gathering, requesting, photocopying and certifying the requirements! I honestly thought that AHPRA will still request for more documents, but thank goodness I got through the entire process without question.

I know this is just the start but I'm so grateful to my family for supporting my plans, to the forumers here in allnurses.com for giving advice, and of course to God for giving me this wonderful, wonderful blessing! :)

wow! congrats......... I sent mine to WA on jun 25th and additional documents on jul 13 and waiting for my LOE with fingers crossed. You are very lucky. I am so happy for you.

I sent mine June 30 in AHPRA VIC. I only received confirmation of receipt last July 12 and until now I haven't received any email from them. I emailed them and they told me to just wait for further instructions. Is this normal? Almost a month and still no news?

Yes I think it's quite normal, because they will just e-mail you if they require additional documents. Some applicants here even had to wait for more than a month.
