Has anyone attended this school? It is approved and licensed by the nursing board of fl but not accredited. And I will be eligible to take my NCLEX at the end of the program. Will the fact that it is not accredited pose problems for me later on as far as further schooling and job placement. My goal is eventually becoming an NP. I have a BA in another field and this RN program completes in 13 months. I have an appointment next Tuesday at the school so I will ask questions, but I'd like opinions if anyone has attended or graduated for there. Thanks in advance!

This is not an easy school for nursing.

The schools pass rates on the board in 2015 was 84%, while the retention rate was at 67%.

The school dose have second chances, while the programs are accelerated and are not right for everybody.

Take your time to sit down with admissions and they will explain the program to you and what is expected from you.

Just FYI, that is not a standard nursing accreditation...

Most nursing programs prefer transferring student to take courses residues by ACEN and CCNE; the best thing for a prospective student is to look into schools that have NURSING accreditation; that is the one hat matters for people who are interested in obtaining federal jobs like in the VA, and military hospitals; since there is a surplus of new nurses, they nurses that have graduated from a NURSING accredited program get too preference for jobs.

Since one doesn't know how life will be mapped out, it's best for anyone seeking information NOT accredited by ACEN and CCNE should be steered to the ample schools that have that said accreditation, maintaining it consistently, and have an optimal NCLEX pass rate; and the Florida BON is not a barometer for schools since most of the schools are having problems with maintaining optimal pass rates and accepting anyone and everybody opening up "nursing" programs.:

You took the words right out of my mouth. If someone still decides to go to a school that is not accredited by a one of the above stated organizations then at least make sure that it is regionally accredited. For Florida this would be SACS. Without this accreditation the degree will be completely useless to the graduate who wants to go further later on with their BSN, MSN, etc. If the school says that they are 'working on it'...find a school that has already done it. The Florida BON has a PDF of first time pass rates for all of the schools in the state with the number of tests administered for the school and how many passed/failed it. Some of these schools are scary. Institutions will word things saying that they are accredited and this and that. It is the student's responsibility to verify the credentials and make sure they are the ones that carry any weight for what they want to accomplish after finishing a nursing program. While these schools will make someone eligible to take their NCLEX whether or not they prepare the student adequately to be successful is another story. Also, with hospitals in Florida pushing to gain Magnet Status there will be a higher demand that the nurses that they hire come from schools with ACEN or CCNE accreditation. Some have already mandated it.

Hi how is it going? I am scared but I am going to start with MPI the first class of 2018. How was your experience and do you have any tips or instructors I should be very careful with?

Let me know. I'm 2 hours away thinking about it.
