MDE Columbia University 2021

Published

Hey ! I know im super early to make this thread for the MDE program at Columbia for the 2021 start year ? but I was wondering if there are any future nurses out there as eager as me to get started !!

I also received my acceptance to the MDE/DNP for Primary Care at 10am (PST). I guess they really did mean "soon" in that email yesterday. I am looking forward to the virtual admitted students activities to meet other students. Congrats to everyone!

I just received my acceptance! T_T but already accepted another school's offer. Does anyone know if you can rescind an acceptance for another school even after you've accepted those loans? They have not been disbursed.

First, congrats! Second, I’d make sure with the school that you already accepted a seat at, that there’s a deadline as to when you can rescind your seat without penalty of losing money. I can’t imagine that they’d give you a hard time if you would rather go to Columbia and not them.

Anyone get into the Psych DNP program?

Thank you so much! I'm going to be giving them a call today.

Congratulations! Was it Adult Gerontology Primary Care or Peds Primary Care?

I only applied for the MDE, which does not allow for a specialty. My ultimate goal is to become a midwife, so I would either have to follow with the DNP in midwifery or attend another midwifery program. I still have some decisions to make!

Congrats to everyone that was accepted! I was accepted to the MDE/DNP for PMHNP today. I get chills just typing that. I can focus on nothing else! Best of luck to everyone. Is anyone is organizing a group chat/group?

Congrats! I applied for the PMHNP as well...would you know how many people they accept into that DNP specialty?

I’m genuinely so happy for all of you who got your acceptances today ?? congratulations!!! I haven’t gotten an update on my application yet, so I’m assuming I’ll be in the second round!

Thanks!! I skimmed back over my notes and I couldn't confirm this but I remember it being around 20 people per specialty? I could be off there. I am pretty sure that it was fewer than 40 people, though, per specialty. Hope that helps, and hope you get in!

Thanks for checking! I thought the number was around 10 so that makes me a little more hopeful! Congrats again, and best of luck!
