Hey ! I know im super early to make this thread for the MDE program at Columbia for the 2021 start year ? but I was wondering if there are any future nurses out there as eager as me to get started !!

Also, I do not think submitting your application by the deadline is going to hurt any of us. This is coming from someone who has changed her essay 486754 times, has not slept in days, but if we are putting as much passion, love, and effort as we say we are IT WILL SHOW! Our applications will standout among the others!
Also is anyone applying MDE/DNP in Pediatric Primary Care? I have not met anyone who is !
Hi!! I'm applying to the MDE/DNP PPC! I'm applying to a few other schools too with pediatric programs, but Columbia is definitely my top choice! Are you applying anywhere else?
The whole influx of applications situation is definitely stressing me out. I already submitted my application, but that makes me feel even more nervous!

I'm a little over 2.5 pages, and I'm concerned about the "ability to follow instructions" part of the prompt ? Anyone have any idea how important a concise under 2 page statement is? Should I just let it go?
I have spoken to almost every single person who is in the current cohort, and I have heard mixed things. Some people had a full page, while others were over.

Amazing! I am applying to UPENN, Thomas Jefferson, and Emory as well! When did you submit your application?

I had the same issue but I tried to condense into exactly two pages. Even though during an Info session they did say it was okay it was went past two pages. But just by a sentence or two. But I tried to play it safe and keep it exactly two pages !

I'm having issues with the social justice equity essay only being a page...?? 300 words is nothing!
When the admissions committee reviews your application, do they read all of the essays at once?
I'm asking because if I'm not sure if it is unwise to mention an event I cover more deeply in my academic addendum in my personal essay.

Tell me about it, one page is definitely not enough! And I thinkk they do. If you are applying to the DNP as well, I heard the adcom for the DNP looks at some of the components of the application. So it might just be half and half. Im not entirely sure. And well, the addendum is there to mention anything academically related that you would like to discuss more that hasn’t already been spoken about anywhere else.

"What college degree or certificate will you be working on when you begin the 2021-2022 school year?"
Do I put "college graduate" or 2nd bachelor's?
Thank you!!
I believe it is college graduate. There’s a financial aid scholarship info session today though; at 1pm eastern time! I’m going to try and attend that one so I can ask that same question. Everyone should try and make it to that if they can because that covers financial aid info
@queen3lizabeth Hey! Can you send the info session link / zoom info once you are notified? I tried to RSVP for it RN but I think it's too late. thanks

I retook and got a B but I am just like ughhhhh. I have an upward trend of GPA and have officially finished my BA with a 3.57 but still, I am so upset about it.
Is anyone in the same boat?? or know someone who got in with a similar situation?
hey! I made an account just to respond to this because I feel the same way! I just submitted an application as well that has an F AND a W on it. we're all in the same boat!
I have hope that the admissions team will take a look at the upward trend and admit us all!! we gotta manifest it HAHA
