Updated:   Published

To anyone out there....

I had planned to apply for Fall 2018 but I will be finishing my pre reqs on May 1,2018. The exact deadline to apply for Fall. Is anyone in a similar situation? Do you think I should apply anyways?

How long did it take everyone for the drug test to get approved on Complio?

Still not approved.

Awesome ty. How abt anyone with a 3.2 GPA OR HIGHER?

You need to go to third floor in the hallway between the two building and pick up the background check. Don't wait for an email. Wait a few days and call or go pick up

Hey guys just stopping by to congratulate all of you who made the cut into this excellent program at MDC. I am half way done into the first semester at Homestead...and I want to pass the knowledge and advice once I got from more advanced students. We have almost all the PDFs for the books you will need. Now, if you like hard copies...just get Fundies and Math the most, you will need no books for skills at all, I had never opened mine because all the info for that class is already on the Fundies book....but this is for the homestead. Medical is a different story, I won't get in details about Medical but if you are going to Homestead consider yourself blessed. If you are on a budget like most of US, don't buy the black bag yet ( we are just about to use only the staff for wounds ). For those going to AO ...my most sincere respect! Nursing is hard in full time, so AO is harder ( half the class did not pass) so study, study, study...say bye to partying, friends, significant others because you won't have time for anything but school. Your classmates will be your family; we help each other, we cry together, we do cool stuff together, and we all make sure we all do good, but there are still some failing ( check your critical thinking skills at testing). Don't be mean to each other, share!!!!. Share your notes, info, share anything that might help to learn and pass. No one cares about GPAs no more. All it matter is that you have to make sure you are passing. Some of us have excellent grades; some others have not so good grades, but as long you get a 77 you are ok ( always aim and prepare for an A). A's are super hard to get since 95 n up is an A, but they are doable if you invest time and effort and your CT skills are strong (questions are case scenarios, and that is where a lot are failing). If you have more questions, ask me on IG. I will do my best to help you guys if you want me to, we all are busy at school so bear with me if I don't respond right away. Once again congrats and good luck....ah! Registration day...arrive early if you want the best clinicals and schedules. That day look around you and learn the faces you see because those are the faces you want to see on your graduation day... we all are in this together!

Check offer up... those who are still in school like me we still need the books for the HESI exit exam and the NCLEX.

You can do it at any Urgent care, it is faster and about the same price MDC charges, vaccines use Walgreens if you have insurance.

Great advise! Thank you so much Jim! You're absolutely right, we're all in this together. Best of luck! I added you on IG.

Hey does anyone know if we can attend orientation day. I'm suppose to have orientation on Tuesday but really can't make it. I want to make the Wednesday orientation. What should I do

Your best bet is to call the nursing department on Monday and explain your situation. I think Lina Perez can help you.

So I had my orientation today for Full time generic @ the Medical Campus. It was great until it was time to register for classes. There were not many options and many of us ended up getting last picks due to a system issue. There were no weekend classes at all.

If anyone attending tomorrows orientation please et us know what options you were given. Thanks

I attended as well. I was ready to process my classes and then I had to register on the 2nd floor and there were 3 professors I could not choose because they were full by the time I went up stairs. I'm so annoyed. It was a mess. I don't think that was fair.
