Hi,
I just took the Hesi entrance exam last week and I am about to apply to Miami Dade College for the Spring 2017 generic full time program. The deadline is September 1 so I am sure there are more than a few people that have applied or are getting ready to apply. I have not seen a forum as yet for spring 2017. I would like to hear from people who are applying for spring 2017.
1. For the first semester if you're in homestead you NEED your fundamentals book with you in class or else you'll be lost. She tells you what you need to highlight, study, read, etc. I'm sure most professors are like this for fundamentals though. It's always best to bring your books with you.2. I got my shoes at nursemates.com. They are kinda pricey at $75 but they are so comfy and you'll be standing in clinicals all day so they are worth it. 3. DO NOT bring the lab bag to class. Only bring it when your professor tells you to. You only need it for practice, and for exam day in the lab.
5. Just relax and know that this program is very do-able. You just need to be committed, do all your readings, study for the exams a week in advance, do a lot of practice questions on EVOLVE, buy the Saunders review book for even more practice questions, FORM A STUDY GROUP (this is the best thing I did) but make sure the group isn't like 10 people because then things can get confusing when studying for exams and splitting up the study guides.
Hope this helped!
Hi! Thanks for the info. Could you please provide us with a link to the Saunders review book? I don't want to get the wrong one. Thank you :)

I can't believe its the fourth week of this program. I am very excited and enjoying myself. I am in the transitional-full time at Medical Campus. The professors are so educated and helpful. So far I haven't needed my lab bag too often but I did use it for foley insertion, NG tube insertion and for Iv piggyback. I have my first Fundamentals exam tomorrow!!! This program is such a relief to me-coming from the nursing program from Broward College. I have been a frequent flyer at the Fin Aid office and so far have received $450 scholarship. My only concern is Med-Math/Pharmacology Math class. Its only 1 hr long and we zip by the math questions super fast. Wishing you fellow students good luck on your programs!
Hi. Just graduated this past semester. Selling female green scrub pants and tops and white clinical tops as well.
-1 Cherokee green petite pant XXS. Style 4020p. Brand new with tag.
- 2 green tops. Fundamentals by white swan. Size SMALL.
Clinical whites:
-1 Cherokee XXS.
- 1 Meridys uniform brand. XS.
- 2 Cherokee. SMALL. Style 1841. These have cinch at the waist, much cuter than the typical clinical white top. These have proper logos but no green stripe on the sleeves. These are best worn with lab coats on top during clinical class.
All have proper logos.
PM if interested!!!!!
Good luck!!!
Hi everyone. Have a Bachelors but my GPA is below 2.5. Its a 2.4 something so I will be applying to the generic. I will be also taking the Hesi in a few weeks. Good luck everyone!
Make sure you score really high on the HESI entrance examination. High 80s but preferably 90s. Your GPA is not doing you any favors.
Just tried to register, the degree audit for me hasn't been changed yet. I was able to pick out the classes but of course it stopped me at completing registration. I also am showing good for florida residency. Guys remember to check that so you won't have to pay out of state rates!!!! I got the green side anyone else with me. I was up front on the left side, corner seat, front row. I am gonna be working not sure if full time or part time, but I have to make it work, because my job will pay for school! I bought my books from amazon some used for $180.
I realize this is super late, but we're you able to continue working throughout the program?
