MDC Nursing Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

I just took the Hesi entrance exam last week and I am about to apply to Miami Dade College for the Spring 2017 generic full time program. The deadline is September 1 so I am sure there are more than a few people that have applied or are getting ready to apply. I have not seen a forum as yet for spring 2017. I would like to hear from people who are applying for spring 2017.

Hi TTLS, I took the HESI my score was 75.43. I also applied for Spring 2017. I am anxious/nervous.

Hi JJ9699,

I am going to be applying this week for the generic program. What program did you apply for? I'm not as anxious yet. Maybe once I submit the application then I will be. I'm hoping to meet some more spring 2017 applicants.

I applied for the Generic full time.

I will be applying for the generic full time also. Fingers crossed we get in!!!

Hello!! I took my first HESI and scored a 79%.. I'm taking it again the 26 of this month just before September 1st which is the deadline. I would be applying for Generic. I need to score higher because my GPA is horrible and embarrassing. Since its 40% GPA & 60% HESI score I am praying that with a higher score (90 or higher) I'll be accepted. :( I also heard that not many people apply for the Spring. More people need to post here!!

Hi vxoxo. I'm not sure if you are aware but I went to see an adviser a few weeks ago and she told me that it's only the science GPA that they look at and not cumulative GPA. Also what book are you using to study for the HESI? Are you using the HESI admissions one by the makers of the test? That is also the one that's recommended by MDC nursing on the website. I used it and got a 97% on the HESI. I found it easy to follow. Good luck on the test!

Hey TTLS, yeah my science GPA is what is low. I'm at a 2.7. :/ The book I am using is that one exactly, I found it helpful. I am hoping to get a 90% or higher this time around. Most people got 60-70% when I was there last, I spoke to some of those who took the test before me/with me.

I am actually contemplating taking the hesi on the 29 and applying that same day. Do you guys know if that is frowned upon. I just finished my last prerequisite on the 29th of July and have been studying since. BTW Does anyone know how the selection process goes regarding if you are placed at the Medical or Homestead program???Good Luck to everyone!!

Hi FutureRNDO, I don't think it matters when you take the HESI. The important thing is that you have everything completed and submitted by September 1. Also from reading threads from prior years I think for generic full time applicants , they place you at Homestead or Medical based on your address. I am not 100% sure though. What program are you applying to? Generic F/T, P/T or Accelerated?

Hey Everyone! :)

Im about to take the exam on the 29th for the first time. So I'm kinda nervous here, haha. But for those who have taken the exam how did you guys feel about the exam? Was it tough?

Hi FutureRNDO, when I applied my advisor told me the selection is according to your home address.
