    Spring 2018 MDC Nursing Program

To everyone applying, good luck to you!!! I am currently in the lpn-rn bridge/ transition program at MDC Medical campus. I recommend applying to the schools website for scholarships- include a sort essay and frequently resubmit your scholarship application every 2-3 months. I have received over 5 scholarships from MDC- however, they come late after I had to pay for classes out of pocket but it's better than not receiving at all. Also, if you are a Broward County resident-like myself please apply to Career source broward- WIOA program. you can get up to $8200 for this nursing program. i will include the link. I found out about this program in my 3rd-final semester but it helped pay 1700 for my last semester! Any questions please ask. PS start reading fundamental chapters 1-6. Spring 2018 MDC Nursing Program

I am currently in my 2nd semester at MDC in psych now. However, I received my acceptance letter on Nov 29th 2016. It was torture waiting for that email since i had applied in June 2016. I started in January and no looking back since. The professors are amazing use rate my professors.com of course and hope for the best. Get uniforms from blue angels across from the medical campus WWAAAY cheaper! Start reading Perry and Potter fundamentals chapter 1-6 to get ahead. You can do it!!! Also apply for the mdc scholarship on the school website very easy- small essay and bio info asked. I received a $450 scholarship for spring and a $800 for summer!!! Thank God.

    Broward College Future Attendee

I reply to you in honesty as I have been in the Broward College nursing program-Central campus in Davie Fl in 2012. Do not attend this program at Broward. I, along with 90 students joined in August 2012 and by the end of the 1st semester only 20 passed on to the next semester-Not including me. I did not have prior nursing background and it was a hard lesson however, I completed my LPN degree at McFatter Technical school in Davie Fl and am currently at Miami Dade College for my RN degree. I love it at Miami Dade and would recommend it to anyone. The professors at Broward go full in as though you already know half of the material taught and it is intense. I have seen many of the students that were in my group at Broward at other schools now-due to them failing out of the program. I have heard professors from Broward warning students about their nursing program and am telling you genuinely because I do not wish hurt on anyone or for anyone to waste their time/money /hopes/dreams and go into a program like nursing at Broward. Heartache and wasted time. Wish that you make the right choice for you. Good luck on your nursing career.

    MDC Nursing Spring 2017

I can't believe its the fourth week of this program. I am very excited and enjoying myself. I am in the transitional-full time at Medical Campus. The professors are so educated and helpful. So far I haven't needed my lab bag too often but I did use it for foley insertion, NG tube insertion and for Iv piggyback. I have my first Fundamentals exam tomorrow!!! This program is such a relief to me-coming from the nursing program from Broward College. I have been a frequent flyer at the Fin Aid office and so far have received $450 scholarship. My only concern is Med-Math/Pharmacology Math class. Its only 1 hr long and we zip by the math questions super fast. Wishing you fellow students good luck on your programs!

    MDC Nursing Spring 2017

I am sure the answer to this question is a big YES. However, my questions are: Do we need health insurance during the nursing program? And has anyone heard of anything concerning as yet?

    MDC Nursing Spring 2017

Thankfully, I avoided the MDC clinic completely. I had my flu shot done at Walgreens. I had my drug screen, physical and PPD completed at MD Now urgent care in Plantation. I live in Davie so driving back and forth to the medical center around my crazy work schedule was not an option for me especially since the urgent care center closes at 8pm daily-very convenient. I am self-pay and it was affordable for me-I already had titers done for the LPN program that i was in back in 2012. Hope everything goes through smoothly for everyone!

    MDC Nursing Spring 2017

So glad there is finally a thread started!!! Hi, I have applied for the transitional and full-time program at Miami Dade. Took the HESI exam in June 2016 with Cumulative score of 88.27%. Science GPS is 3.5. I have been at the school many times speaking with different advisors and emailing them like crazy. This program is everything to me and I am praying to get in. I have seen in the past that acceptance emails come out mid October so hopefully it's the same for us!! Best of luck to each of you.
  16. As a LPN I am employed as a clinic nurse at a middle school. I love it. My hours are convenient 9:30 am - 3:30pm and I perform first aid, vitals and give medication such as eye drops, inhalers, epi pen and insulin. I also have children who need prn meds such as Motrin, Tylenol etc. However I find it rewarding. I have my own office and with the help of my nurse manager, I have support when needed. As a new LPN I didn't feel comfortable doing home care or assisted living, so I started off slowly. If you find an agency that works with the school board great for you. I say all this to say this as a LPN there are many ways to have a job within different fields just ind one that works for you and shine! However, I do plan to attain my BSN degree because it has always been a goal of mine. But honestly, I am very satisfied as a LPN and if you are that is great. Stay encouraged.
