Hi,
I just took the Hesi entrance exam last week and I am about to apply to Miami Dade College for the Spring 2017 generic full time program. The deadline is September 1 so I am sure there are more than a few people that have applied or are getting ready to apply. I have not seen a forum as yet for spring 2017. I would like to hear from people who are applying for spring 2017.
Hello everyone! My name is Jessica and I'm applying for the winter 2017 MDC generic program. I got a 85% on the Hesi and a 3.8 science GPA. Fingers crossed!!!!! I found out today that the average score is 73%, which makes me a bit nervous because its so close to my score. Wishing everyone luck and nice to meet everyone!
Hi Jessica! Welcome! The application deadline is two days away and then the wait begins! Where did you get the information about the average HESI score?
I also noticed there isn't a lot of threads on the Spring 2017 Nursing admissions
I am applying for the Accelerated Program and the Generic Full Time. I took the HESI exam, August 30, 2016, and it went pretty well. I got a 90.86% overall score :). I saw the class scores on the Evolve account and they were not great at all, around the low 70s for each section. . My science GPA is not that great at 3.21 due to the fact that I took most of my pre-requisites at FIU and it's harder than the classes at Miami- Dade. Hopefully with the HESI and GPA, my cumulative score is an 86.
I may also apply to NOVA for Winter 2017, just in case.
Hi! I took the HESI exam today and applied for the generic nursing (full time) right after. My score was: 88.86%. Is that good? I asked a few people after I got out and nobody had a score as high as me, so I hope that means I did well.
Also, how do I determine what my science GPA is? Is it just the Chemistry lab and lecture, A&P lab and lecture, and Microbiology lab and lecture grades?
I hope we can get in!!!! I'm thinking of applying to Nova as a backup plan in case I don't get in.
TTLS I took the Hesi yesterday and got an 85.43% my science GPA is 3.74. I am hoping i get placed at the medical campus and i applied for both Geberic Full Time and the Accelerated. Now its just the waiting game to see if I get accepted!!!
Congrats! 85 is an excellent Hesi score and your science GPA is great! Were there a lot of people doing the HESI when you took it yesterday?

Hi Pizzaism! Congrats on the HESI. Science GPA includes A & P 1 and 2 plus labs, chemistry plus lab and microbiology. Microbiology lab is not included in the calculation of the science GPA....
Thanks for your reply, TTSL!
In that case, my GPA is 3.14. I'm hoping the 88.86% on HESI will help make up for the GPA. Does anyone know when they start sending us emails in regards to whether or not we got accepted or rejected?
Has anyone here applied to other schools as well in case of a worst case scenario?
One more question: how do we check the students average on the Elsevier website?
