MDC Nursing Spring 2017

Hi,

I just took the Hesi entrance exam last week and I am about to apply to Miami Dade College for the Spring 2017 generic full time program. The deadline is September 1 so I am sure there are more than a few people that have applied or are getting ready to apply. I have not seen a forum as yet for spring 2017. I would like to hear from people who are applying for spring 2017.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two Jackson Plaza Clinical sites? I am seeing "JMH WW 11" and Jackson UMF telemetry 8th FL North " .I'm trying to figure the location of each but Google is not being very helpful. Which one is closer to the medical campus?

Hey TTLS dont quote me as i could be wrong but i think the one that says Jackson Plaza JMH WW 11 is the Jackson that is right next door to medical campus WW standing for west wing?...and the second: Jackson telemetry 8th floor North is the Jackson Hospital that is north that you see from I95 when you're driving towards aventura Jackson North is considered to be in North Miami beach..

Just tried to register, the degree audit for me hasn't been changed yet. I was able to pick out the classes but of course it stopped me at completing registration. I also am showing good for florida residency. Guys remember to check that so you won't have to pay out of state rates!!!! I got the green side anyone else with me. I was up front on the left side, corner seat, front row. I am gonna be working not sure if full time or part time, but I have to make it work, because my job will pay for school! I bought my books from amazon some used for $180.

Hello. I was on the green side like on the second or third row. Just tried to register as well and it wouldn't let me. I already have all my classes in the shopping cart and everything though

Cool, im Kaara we will be in classes together!!! It didnt let me keep the classes in a shopping cart, how did you do that?

Hello! I also got the green. I was in the back row. I think they will change the degree tomorrow. Did you buy the books to keep?

Only maybe fundamentals I will keep because of what Dr. Foster said but idk, I got a decent deal. Have everyone taken advantage of the school uniform deal, or are you guys getting them elsewhere? I found them (books) all on amazon and have them saved for later. Also on the yellow paper with the books on the front page do we need those also or is that just for the apps we need to have on our phones? And on that paper also they had 4 books a opposed to the 3 they recommended originally, is anyone else getting that extra book?

I'm not really sure, I don't even know if to buy the books because I'm scared they will say that we need the access code or something of that sorts.

For clinical locations, unfortunately I had the nursing home in Flagler so those locations sound different to me, but I believe Jackson North does not have 8 floors, I think max is 5 floors? The tele floor might be in the main campus which is right by the school, ask a faculty member to be sure.

And oh my goodness, no, the Blue Angels north of the parking lot will sell the uniform for cheaper, in fact a majority of us don't even wear the scrubs bought from the bookstore, we do wear the colors though, just not the scrubs from the book store because they are expensive. The only thing I bought at the book store was the clinical scrub (just a white top) and that itself was, I believe, 30+ dollars. For the most part, if the scrubs match the color required for lecture, then they don't pay much attention, I heard some professors inspect your scrubs to make sure they match the book stores (I think they're rumors) but for the most part there is such a little difference and every professor I've had did not care. But I believe there will be a switch in faculty because some professors are retiring and new ones are coming in, so who knows what will go on. Go to Blue Angels across the street and the book store and compare, when I did it last January there was no difference at all, just make sure you get your genders and you have the emblem on your top scrub.

Floridean, the parking is TERRIBLE, there's hardly any parking for the workers lol, I would park at the publix down the road and walk over. If you can get a group of people to carpool, park on the street after it, there is this gravel everyone parks on.

Yeah we don't have the floridean as a choice for clinical this semester
