MDC Nursing Spring 2017

Hi,

I just took the Hesi entrance exam last week and I am about to apply to Miami Dade College for the Spring 2017 generic full time program. The deadline is September 1 so I am sure there are more than a few people that have applied or are getting ready to apply. I have not seen a forum as yet for spring 2017. I would like to hear from people who are applying for spring 2017.

Specializes in ICU CCRN.

There is a program that Broward has that offers to pay for tuition, uniforms and books. I have some classmates in it.

BTW, for anyone who may know this:

1) As far as the flu shot... is there anyway at all to opt out of it?

2) Has anyone taken the CPR/BLS classes elsewhere that is not at MDC? If so, where and how much?

I think we must get it, I'm not too happy about it either...I never get the flu so I don't see the point but :(

If you go on the American Heart association website you can find places where to do it, just be sure it's a CPR/BLS class.

Anyone has done the CPR/BLS class. My orientation is November 17, and Im checking online for the classes and the next available one is for November 18. I guess I'll call to see what my options are.

I did mine last Sunday. Someone told me they are doing it in Broward on Saturday. I'd either call the number they give us in the link to see if you can find anything for this weekend or just go to the American Heart Association website and try to search for a CPR/BLS class that can be done this weekend.

I need some help! Does anyone know how long it takes to get things on Complio approved? I'm still waiting to get the physical done and get titers results on Tuesday and will be getting the flu shot today.

I am hoping and praying my titers/TB test come out fine on Tuesday so I can upload all of that to Complio and finally be done lol

How many of you will be at orientation on Thursday the 17th? I hope to see some of you there!

I need CPR/BLS and finish the physical Bc I needed to take an X-ray, so everything is wait time. I don't know if I'm gonna make the deadline since it was so quick for me. I already emailed the person in charge of the program and told her the situation with the CPR class. Let's see what she says.

I've been trying to call her all week and she never answers, maybe I'll be able to talk to her on Monday when I go and upload the first batch of documents to Complio.

Hey Leya, I too am in the rush to get all my stuff finished by orientation..tomorrow I'm taking the cpr class up at Broward college.when I had called to see about when MDC would have the next class I was told the 18th..but was also told to go to the local fire department and ask them when they would have their next cpr class maybe that can help..

I got my acceptance letter on Tuesday after having gone down there twice to get some answers as to why I hadn't recieved my email since others with lower scores and gpa's had gotten in..what happened was someone had put in the wrong hesi score under my name and student ID and the wrong science gpa and everything else. So today when I got to pay the deposit on my seat I'll see about getting an extension.

I am doing my CPR/BLS at a local fire department. It's cheaper and associated with AHA. I would recommend calling them. Some don't do it in a classroom, which makes it shorter than the 4 to 6 hours and more one on one.

Congrats!!!! What a mistake to make with your score and GPA. Thankfully you were persistent and they caught the error.
