MDC Nursing spring 2014

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

I know there was an issue that many of the part time people did not receive their email for the pearson test so I will post it.

In an effort to provide you with the most rewarding learning experience available, Benjamín León School of Nursing has partnered with Pearson Education to assess your readiness for nursing school in the following four content areas: Mathematics, Reading, Science, and English Language/Writing.

Pearson’s Readypoint Admission Skills Exam (RASE) will be administered on Tuesday – November 26, 2013 at the Medical Campus. You are to report at: 12:30 PM to the Testing Center – Room 1303. The exam is scheduled to start at 12:45 PM. Please bring a picture ID with you. You will be required to show picture ID for admission to the exam.

In order to take the RASE Exam, you must PRE-REGISTER and create a Pearson’s student account. Registration will close at 5:00 PM on Monday – November 25, 2013. Your account MUST be created no later than 5:00 PM the day before the scheduled exam.

You have been admitted to the Generic Part-time program cohort. Therefore, please ONLY select the following option when registering on the Pearson’s site:

Is everyone buying the books from the bookstore ? I know of website that rent them or sell them cheaper like used ones. What do you guys think? Buy brand new or used ? Used doesn't have the codes so there's no study tools.....

I'm confused ! Please someone help!

Argg this is so frustrating!!! Why do they change things at the last minute. I had already requested 2 days off from work so I can attend orientation and testing based on the days stated on my acceptance email and now I have to change it again with my employer and at last moment notice. Mdc needs to get it together!!!

You better get used to such changes, MDC has a habit of doing things like this, so you have to be flexible. Try and call to see if they can accommodate you on another day, but I doubt it.

As for buying old book or renting, you can do that. I am in the BSN and lots of classmates are doing that. I have bought used books that are in good condition, with not markings or hightlights through Ebay, Amazon, etc.

I went to the store it is called blue angels nurses uniforms. The have the white clinical top for 26.99 at mdc it is 31.99 and the green top is 22.99 at mdc it is 27.50 and the pants are 13.00 at mdc it is 20.00. I passed right by the parking lot lol it is right next to the store all though you can walk there from the school. The building is blue.

Thank you for the info! Did they actually have the MDC emblem on the tops or were you able to bring it to the bookstore & have them sent out to have them placed on them? The woman at the bookstore said they were no longer doing that?

OH No.. My orientation is on Monday and my Pearson test according to the acceptance email said it is on Tuesday. How do I know if they changed my date they let you know at orientation? Also I haven't register to take the Princeton do I have to?

Wow those manuals we have to print out are huge! I guess we have to run to office depot to print them out because I doubt I have that much ink or paper at home. I bet most of us aren't going to catch that email on time and have it for Orientation tomorrow anyways.

You don't really have to print them out. Just the final page that you have to sign and turn in. Us in part time program never received that email actually and we were just fine. Do you think you can forward that manual to me so I can go over it? They said that they would attempt to resend it but we haven't gotten anything yet and orientation was a couple of days ago.
