MDC Nursing spring 2014

Published

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

If I did the DCF on Monday would it be ready by today?

Is anyone on here declining the flu shot? Personally I've never had one before and wasn't planning on ever getting it.[/quote']

I am declining because I am breast feeding. I will probably do it when we start the second semester.

Aww* congrats!

Do we also HAVE to get the Hep B?

I'm on the same boat as you! As far as Hep B, it depends on the results of your titers. But I'm assuming you could decline as well.

The NP at the wellness center said that I could decline the hep b.

@jla27- I was going to decline it because I had never received one nor ever thought I would, but I've been hearing that hospitals won't let you work in their facilities unless you get it. I want to volunteer while I'm in the program so I might as well get the flu shot now and endure any side effects while I'm not in school than suffer while I try to study. I got mine done at my GP. My arm was bruised and achey for a day, but thankfully no side effects. I would call the nursing department or email the head lady to see what she recommends.

We all learned from the health care course that Hep B was number one concern for health care workers.... I wouldn't risk it.

@mo325 and jla27 I have never receive the flu shot either. Is there a specific reason to deny it?

I agree, I think it is very important for health care workers.

I went today to my primary physician to do all my tests. He told me that he doesn't need to give me any document for the TB test. That he only needs to state it in the health record document just put the results and date. Has anybody here had this same situtation? The health record document says results attached...
