MDC Nursing spring 2014

Published

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

So my physician doesn't do the 10 panel drug screen. Can I just do the drug screen at Mdc? Does anyone know how much it cost?

Thank you in advance!!

Drug screen is $30 through MDC

Having done this program already, they make you rush to get all done and if you are in the part time track you do not get to clinicals until your second semester. Whatever you do, please KEEP COPIES, these have a way of getting misplaced or lost, but if you have your copies you will be good.

Also, no professor ever told me something because I used the old edition. Editions are changed every five years with little differences. My Med-Surge textbook was the prior edition and I did fine. I do suggest to buy the current pharmacology and drug guide book that is current.

For those asking about the PPD, check to see if your local Walgreens or CVS does it. Someone in my BSN program said they do it there, but she was not sure.

Omg I'm starting to lose hope... If no one denied full time then I guess that's out for me.

Get in the part time program if available, although, this program has been the most competitive in the last few years as people work and this program opens once a year only. In other words when you apply next time apply for both and see what you get.

Remember as you wait, try to get other class like Statistics, ENC 1102, Nutrition, Introduction to Psychology and the Microbiology Lab that you will need for the BSN. Do not waste time.

...which is why I said it depends on the professor

I wouldn't say the rolling bag is completely necessary but it sure has saved my back and trips back and forth to my car. Ultimately, it's up to your preference. Maybe see how it goes after the first few weeks then decide

hello everyone

I just found out that my CPR class which was scheduled for november 9th at the North Campus was changed to the 23rd of november. On november 22nd it is the orientation day. Does anyone know if it is ok to return the CPR card after orientation I was trying to look for another date available in another campus but could not find one that would fit my schedule. thanks

You can try to google which places give CPR that are American Heart Association approved. I have done all mine on my own and not at MDC. The last one I did was at the Fire Academy in Coral Springs, did both my ACLS and BLS. Obviously, MDC is a convenient place, but for those that want to do it sooner or closer, there are other options. Consider FIU or hospitals.

Good luck.

@Lizpanther. PM me your email address and I will add you if you cant find it. The group is called MDC Nursing AO 2014
I think I just found it! I asked to joined..

Thank you for the advice!
I signed up for that day too! I already have my book though, maybe they'll let us share. Either way, another student posted this like two weeks ago, so I think you'll be fine! (:

"FYI: I did the CPR/BLS class today at the MDC medical campus. Although I bought the required book, a lot of students didn't because they said the book store ran out of copies. As a result, the teacher let them stay in the class and we proceeded without EVER using the book."

mo325 I called the north campus and they have the book I guess I'll buy it there! Thank you so much!

It cost $225 to do a complete medical check at mdc which would cover everything program requires.

Congrats! Im in the full time bridge as well :) are you going to do face to face or online? @luvable82389

Hi I am also fulltime bridge, online. Are you online krys07
