MDC Nursing spring 2014

Published

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

@jessy89 , Thank you soo much!!!!

Congrats! Im in the full time bridge as well :) are you going to do face to face or online? @luvable82389

HI! i will be doing bridge full time face to face! super excited!!:)

Specializes in Emergency Room.

Has anyone that did the DCF after the level two background check received an email saying that MDC has received the DCF background check? I got the email that says they received my level two but I haven't received an email saying that they recieved my DCF check yet. I did the level two on 10/23 and I went back to the DCF on 10/31..

I never received an email notifying me that the DCF letter was ready. I just went in 4 business days after my fingerprints and it was available.

You have to go in to get the papers? I thought they send it to mdc?

I also have not received any notice on the DCF letter. Did you go back to the fingerprint place or to the medical campus to get your results?

@Iggymom @Emunah @lolita26 I made the same mistake most of you made in regards to the background check and DCF letter (having to get my prints done twice). I received an email from MDC that my background check was ready for pick up in room 1355 in the Medical Campus 2 business days after my first prints. I went back a week later and did my print for the DCF letter. I waiting a week but never received an email from MDC in regards to the DCF letter. I read on this message board that if you haven't received a confirmation email after 4 business days just to go to (or call) MDC, they more than likely have the paperwork. I'm assuming they only send out one confirmation email assuming you performed both fingerprint requirements at the same time. I went in yesterday, they handed me the paperwork, I made several copies in the learning center and turned in all my paper work. (copies of background check, health report and cpr card). I also kept a copy of all my paperwork and will be taking it to orientation with me...just incase.

Is anyone on here declining the flu shot?

Personally, I've never had one before and wasn't planning on ever getting it.

Remember to make copies of everything before you turn it in and bring a copy to orientation... They already couldn't find some of my paperwork today when I went back the office. *sigh*

Weird thing I wanted to say... I had my first Hep B shot on like 10/25 and when I turned in all my paperwork the other day the lady told me that since I won't be done with my rounds of Hep B by the time clinicals will start, I'd have to sign a decline form for Hep B... I signed it reluctantly because it seemed a little weird... By those standards, all of the students that got their Hep B shot after getting their acceptance letters will have to sign the decline form.
