MDC Nursing spring 2014

U.S.A. Florida

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

Hello everyone!

As it seems everyone is, I'm a nervous wreck! Lol

Scheduled to take Teas August 28 and I feel I've forgotten

everything from A&P and Chemistry so I'm busy refreshing.

I'm a bit confused after reading the thread. A couple of comments

indicated that the accelerated option was only 1 semester (4 months)

less that the Generic Full Time. I was under the impression

that Generic Full Time was 2 full years long. Can someone please

clarify?

Took my TEAS today, overall competitive score is an 80 ( TEAS 75.3, Science GPA 3.52). Hoping for the best and wishing everyone good luck!

@asegura8 Thanks and good luck to you too :) I can't wait to know. This waiting is a pain.

@Eb0220

The Generic Full-Time is 4 semesters while the Accelerated Option is 3 semesters.

In other words, I believe the accelerated is 1 year while the generic FT is a year and 4 months. I believe the program that is 2 years is the Generic Part-Time.

@AriesTwin... Once you've received your provisional acceptance letter, the school gives you one week to accept or decline your seat. If you choose to accept, along with the provisional form, you will be asked to put down a $100 deposit. No, I did not attend the orientation. The orientation is scheduled approximately 3 to 4 weeks after you have received the letter. I do hope to see in January. Are you applying to the Accelerated program?

@JenesaRenae

Yes I applied to the accelerated program. Your score is amazing and hopefully everything is settled in your life. I'm sure we will see each other come January!

Congrats on your teas score. How was the exam can you give some feedback please. I'm taking mine in two weeks & I'm nervous because this time is make it or break for me.

Ugh just took the practice test from ATI and I got a 72% which is the same I got on the actual test in April!!! I've been studying my both off and apparently it isn't working. Any suggestions?

@dcepero you took the online test or the book? Because the online version hard. I think harder than the actual test. I'm using the ATI book & the McGraw Hill,& online.

@candy2 I wish I would've given myself more time to study, crammed for 3 weeks. I studied of the actual TEAS V practice book I got through Amazon. I focused mostly on math and science since I know they are my weaker subjects. For math, know how to convert decimals to percentages and vice Vera. Also know how to solve equations and inequalities and basic math multiplication, division,subtracr

tion and addition. For science, know your Chemistry. Know difference between ionic and covalent bonds, subliminaltion, condensation, evaporation etc. Also how to balance chemical equations. I believe miri posted on page 4 or so on this topic. She gave a pretty good summary on what to review. Good luck!

@dcepero

Don't rest. Keep doing those practice tests and review your wrong answers. They help tremendously. When I would look back at my wrong answers, I realized that I would get the same type of problems wrong. Figure out your pattern and work on it. Good luck!!!

I was talking to some peers and they suggested applying to multiple nursing programs if I wasn't sure I was getting into MDC (of course I'm not sure, I'm a mess!)

Is anyone applying to multiple nursing schools? And if so, which schools?

Anyone have any suggestions on the matter?
