MDC new requirements Spring 2011

Is anyone here going for Mami Dade College ASN program for Spring 2011. they have new requirements, TEAS test and gpa based SOLELY on natural science gpa

the science gpa will be all anatomy, micro lecture, and chem lect + lab. wanted to know what the applicant pool numbers were looking like!

I am not even finished with my courses and I have trouble registering for pre-req's because they're are a shortage of professors. Do you register online?;)

Currently, I'm taking A&P II w/ lab. CHM w/lab next semester and MICRO w/ lab in the summer or fall. Then I'm done. I ordered the ATI and McGraw Nursing book to study during the breaks in-between. Hope that helps me since Math is not my strong point, never has been. :coollook:

Did you guys bring in your paperwork on orientation day? And was your background check completely done before you were able to register?

Did you guys bring in your paperwork on orientation day? And was your background check completely done before you were able to register?

yes, mostly all of us brought our paper work and turned-in, even though its incomplete. all of it must be done before the first day of class.

not to ush u or anything but y not take chm lab and micro lab together in the spring? that way u can apply for fall 11? both labs are doable ESPECIALLY @ north campus!!!

How much money have you guys spent on all your books? How many books for each class?:nurse:

I have been laid-off so many times so money is really tight and I have to space it out. My tax return is what saves me. I have to buy the books as well, plus gas, and my living expenses so it really doesn't leave much money left this is why I do it in this manner. :o

aw man! that really stinks!!! I'm sorry to hear that! I'm guessing loans are not an option for you? Luckily Micro lab is not a requirement for the program so you can still apply this spring... you have your A&Ps already and sounds like you took micro lecture... finish up that chem lab this spring and you're all set... of course i'm also assuming you took speech and ethics already?? Either it doesn't matter which route you take... as long as you end up at the finishline!!!

I turned in my paperwork at orientation, the only thing I was missing was the background check which I went yesterday to do, and the 2nd MMR. They said at the orientation that they understood it was a short time frame for everyone to bring in their paperwork so thats why they allowed us to register for the classes now. We need to have everything completely turned in before the first day of classes or our classes will get dropped. Thats what I understood from the orientation.

What I meant to say is that I will take Micro w/ lab in Summer of Fall of 2011, and CHM next semester. Right I am taking A & P II w/ Lab. I took Speech at another school and Critical Thinking at MDC. That's the ethics you speak of right? I have school loans (2 degrees) on forbearance because I cannot pay for them right now and for nursing I will take out loans. Right now, I am just paying out of pocket since I can.

Guys i have a question about the background check.. do i have to print the e-mail and turn it in? or they get the e-mail of the completed background check automatically? cuz i did my background check about 4 days ago and yesterday i received an e-mail from them that it was completed.. do i have to print that e-mail? at orientation i turned in the background check appointment with the receipt and i was able to register for classes.. but idk what i should do...
