It's never too early to start the discussion....
Anyone else preparing to apply to the Nursing program at MDC by May 1, for a Fall 2021 start date? Which tracks? TEAS test plans?

I answered previously but I’m going to paste it here Incase. As far as scheduling, It's done by random pools. One person registers everyone randomly for their courses. Only thing I've noticed from one semester to the next is it seems like they try to keep students in the same/similar schedules or teachers each semester but its not always the case. Also, everything as of right now is being done online. We are required to sign on at our scheduled class time and be in uniform just as you would if you were on campus. They have started to open the skills lab at the medical campus for certain days a week to practice hands on skills this semester so that's very helpful. We use the ATI program as part of our coursework and its an amazing tool if you use it. Each semester you are required to take an ATI final exam for your classes (first semester is only funds, second is Pharm & med surg etc) along with the professors final exam.
First semester schedule for me was
Monday 9/1-12/18 8-1045 am then 2-445pm
Tuesday 9/1-11/8 430pm-550pm
Tuesday 9/1-12/18 11a-130pm
Thursday 9/28-12/18 7am-3pm
Second semester I was in class 5 days to start and then 4 when skills dropped. Clinicals is 2 days instead of 1 second semester

She even explained to me how the selection goes. She said those 3 grades are entered in the system and then sort of like a rank is created (average between the 3 grades) and from there the system picks those with the higher "ranks". There isn't like an actual person looking at and comparing grades and selecting those who get in. Who knows anymore, better to be safe than sorry and try to get a decent score in the science portion I guess ?
This is exactly what I've heard.... overall TEAS is the only thing. It even says it on the MDC ASN page (33.33% for all of those things)... and then when May 1st hits, they let the system run and that will decide who is first to get acceptance letters, then they work their way down if people go to another school or don't accept... or any other factors.
Honestly the test, aside from science - was all intuitive for me. The reading, if you go slow, is just english. I can see it being impossible if english is your second language, but go slow and the answer is already in your head - both sections. The math is nothing over high school math. If you have a good foundation, you'll be fine.
I, like someone said above, scored 97, 93, 95 on the three subjects, but scored a 70 something in science. I didn't study at all and went into it with whatever was in my head. I'm going to retake and see how I do. Averaged thats an 89%, but I'd like to break 90.
