MDC Fall 2011 =)

Published

Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?

I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!

I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol

Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat

It is estimated that the 72 required credits and fees for graduation will cost in-state students $7,200.00 Students with out-of-state status will pay $22,200.00. In addition, students will need materials such as uniforms, books, shoes, physical exam/immunizations, watch, stethoscope, NCLEX-RN exam fee that are estimated as $2,220.00

This is for the 72 credit hours...but that include the pre requisites. The program itself is 42 credits so it should be around 4000, which considering the cost of other programs out there it's super cheap! :lol2: :D

i was told at barry its around 16,000 per semester. so yeah we are lucky

i have not gotten an email either. I am p/t option. I guess we will just have to wait and see until Monday!

Hi MiaNurse,

Glad to meet another "part-timer".

FEM

does our watch have to be white?

PixieMom,

I've met plenty RN students at MDC who do not have white watches. A white watch looks professional and "put together", but it is not required.

Thank GOD! I could not find a decent white watch with military time anywhere :(

lol - I found a decent one on allheart.com. It lights up, has military time, and is easy to see. But, I figure that I should have another as a back up for clinicals, or make the white one the backup. I don't own any other watches, so if that one would break, I would be in big trouble! So, I guess I will look for another one in a different color. Have you ever thought of digital? I've read that some nurses will use the alarm setting for keeping track of stuff for their patients.

Yeah I would prefer digital except i think they want us to have a watch with a sweeping hand for pulse taking, respirations, bp, etc.
