Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?
I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat
Flex..I feel scared!!! If this were a "normal" situation and they accepted more than 150-170 people then I feel like I might have a chance. A girlfriend of mine got into the nursing program back in 09 with like a 3.7 and she feels confident that I'm going to get in, however, I don't feel as confident as she doesI'm trying to mentally prepare myself in the event that I do not get in. Don't wanna count my chickens before they hatch! Thinking philosophically, I believe that I am at this point I my life for a reason and believe that God has a plan for me..greater than I have for myself!! (As oprah says, lol) Anyway, what do you think of my application score?? What is yours and others you may know of??
The reason I asked is because I have the same exact application score.
Sometimes I feel like it's good enough to get in and other times I don't.
I think it all depends on what the highest application score is. If it's near 100, I doubt we're in. If it's near 90 then we might have a shot.
My GPA is a 3.8 I believe..I have a B in micro and the rest are A's...and I got a 78.7 on my TEAS test. This gives me an 85 competitive score (I think). The 78.7 puts me in the 88th % of the program. What do you think??? I'm not too sure..but I have FAITH!!How about you?? Which program are you applying for? That's great info that the advisor gave you! I only applied to the part-time...
I actually think you're higher than the 88th percentile it shows on the test. Consider this, the TEAS shows percentile of EVERYONE that has taken the test not percentile of everyone that ended up applying. Out of thousands that took the test there have to be quite a few that didn't make it to advisement office by the deadline. It's just not possible that every single person actually applied. AND maybe a lot of people only applied to full time which would eliminate them from your part time applicant pool. So don't lose that faith! :)
I applied to generic full & part time, and accelerated. I want this really bad! :hdvwl: (i was looking for the smiley that pulls his hair out but I think that's on yahoo so head-banging will have to do)
Dea- I agree with you 100%. I am actually one of those applying to both the accelerated and the generic programs. I am hoping to get into the generic and apply to the Baptist and Jackson scholars program. That being said, if I get into both, there is a spot open for accelerated, and if I am only accepted to the accelerated, I won't be taking up a spot in generic; I've heard rumors that generic is more competitive than accelerated.Does anyone know how to apply to either scholars program, or if there are others out there? (Say, Mnt Sinai?
)
I'm also applying to both programs and even applied to the generic part time as a back up. But I really hope I get into one of the full time options! :) I'm actually torn between accelerated and generic ft because I want to be finished asap but I keep hearing how much more difficult accelerated is. I want to make sure I actually understand everything I'm learning and gen is only 1 more semester...but that's 5 more months I have to wait before I can start my new career.
I spoke with a lady at the open house about a different scholarship than Baptist. There were a few hospitals she was representing that we could apply to. We have to wait until end of 1st semester to apply and need to maintain 2.5 gpa in nursing program to be eligible. She said they will be at the orientation to give specific details about everything. :)
