Hello fellow students! I wanted to create a topic for those who are planning on starting the MDC Nursing program in the Fall of 2019. It's never too early to be well prepared. LOL. I have a B.A. and was able to get some of my credits transferred to the A.S. I read through the thread for the Fall of 2018 class and the Spring of 2019 class. Both threads have some very useful information regarding how to study for the HESI, scores needed to get into the program, etc. and many people from those groups keep in touch in Facebook and via Whatsapp. I'm looking for a support/study group for those that are in the same timeline as I am. Just starting BSC2086 A&P 2/lab and MGF1106 next week at Kendall/Homestead campuses. Also, looking for P/T work at Baptist Hospital or MDC. I am anticipating taking Microbiology and the Intro to Healthcare in the Spring '19, along with the HESI. Hope to meet some great people on here!
Here is the link for the bridge program. According to what I see there, neither CNA nor phlebotomist is included. Bad Request

According to what I see under the transitional program requirements, neither CNA nor phlebotomist is included. Here is what's listed:
Approved Health Care license
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - State of Florida License
Medical Assistant - RMA from the American Medical Technologist Association
Military Medic - Must show proof of DD214 and military transcript of courses
Paramedic - State of Florida License
Respiratory Therapist - State of Florida License

Thanks, Psyched! Yes, I've been studying for the Hesi using the free phone apps on and off this semester. Will focus more on that in January, once I have the Microbiology class started. Wanting to get a little more knowledge in that subject before I even attempt the test. Also need to do major review on Chemistry. That will be my weakest subject on the test.
Studying using free Hesi phone apps. I also purchased a few books that I'll be using to study in January and February. I have one more semester also, Microbiology Lecture/Lab.
My plan is to test for the CNA license. You can study by yourself and challenge the test. One of the girls I know from school took it 2 weeks ago and passed. She dropped the Intro to Health/lab classes that she was taking this semester, since she was able to confirm with the MDC Medical campus advising that those class requirements will be waived with proof of CNA licensure.
Ok, so this place looks completely different. LOL. I was able to keep the 4.0 last semester, so yay! Started the new semester with a really bad cold. Still sick, just hoping it will pass by next week. Arg, hate wanting to sleep instead of studying but have to rest.
Microbiology and the lab are going to keep me busy. Has anyone taken Madison's class in Homestead? I'm looking for the test study materials that she handed out. It seems this semester she's going to do something different, so we won't be getting that help. She will be giving an outline and we have to find all of the information versus before she gave questions with the answers.
I did get a background check done, but not sure if it's the same one that's required for the MDC Nursing application. It was done by in the police station.

Hi all and welcome! Been super busy trying to keep my 4.0. Almost over for the semester. Yay. I got the A's in A&P2/Lab. Now struggling to keep the math A. Yes, if anyone wants to start a Whatsapp, I'm in. I know they have been removing posts here with phone numbers due to security. Any ideas?
