  1. Hi! I didn’t take any science courses at Wolfson. I got an A in CHM1033! Not because I had a great teacher, but because I studied from Khan Academy on YouTube. Watching their videos really helped me! I highly recommend them :)
  2. Hi guys!! A lot of us got our acceptance letters for fall 2019! Everything must be submitted into complio by June 28th according to the email. Does anyone in the current program know what happens if we can't submit everything by that deadline? Is it dire to do so or are they lenient as long as you submit everything by orientation? Any info would be helpful, thank you!!
  3. I'm right by you! Plantation area
  4. me!! what program are you going for?
  5. Thank you!! Congrats to all of you! And thank you for all of the info., MOONNightNURSE!
  6. Hi guys! For those who were accepted for the Fall 2018 program: when was your mandatory orientation day? The advisor told me its usually in July, but I wanted to know more or less if it lands in beginning/mid/end July. Thank you!!
  7. Hi guys! I recently spoke with a great advisor at the MDC Medical campus. To answer a question I saw from previous posts: taking the HESI more than once won't hurt your chances of getting in & they only see the highest score. I got an 82% my first time back in Feb. so I'd have enough time to retake it if needed. I'm taking it again Monday the 15th. My science GPA is a 3.9 for now (taking microbio, a&p II, a&p II lab, intro to healthcare & intro to healthcare lab, and a microbio lab for future BSN credentials), but I have a feeling I might be getting a B or 2 this sem. so it may drop- hence why I'm taking the HESI again lol. I plan to apply to both AO & generic. The advisor said its pretty common for a large percentage of students to switch out from AO to the generic program half way through! Scary...still contemplating which one to go with! AO tends to be less competitive since not as many students apply to it. She also said there's a mandatory orientation scheduled sometime in July that you CAN'T miss, just a heads up! We find out if we get in sometime mid June (on average). Also, the program doesn't offer health insurance to its students.... major bummer! Good luck to everyone! Keep us posted with your progress!
  8. Wow congrats- @Grisso a decent HESI and you'll definitely get in! Can't wait for this semester to be over! I have 1 more sem of prereqs to go. Email??
  9. Hi Shanna, I'm not sure to be honest. I did some quick searching but couldn't find the info. Here's the url: Nursing RN Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) | Miami Dade College if you want to contact an advisor from the medical campus.
  10. Hi just seeing this! I also live in Broward and heard the MDC program is better than BCC's. Nice! I'm taking chem and ethics now, in case I apply for the generic program. I'm really shooting for the AO. The deadline for Fall 2019 is May first. Here's the url: Nursing RN Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) | Miami Dade College @Grisso @maugustin we can definitely start a whatsapp chat! great idea :)
  11. Hi guys! I agree, it's never too early to be well prepared! Lol. I also plan on applying to the ASN program at MDC. From what I've read, the generic program seems to be pretty competitive since its the more common route. I'm shooting for the accelerated option. I have a BA in Psychology from FIU which I received in 2014. I'm currently finishing up prereqs, taking chemistry and A&P1 with labs at the North Campus. Next semester I'll be taking Microbiology, A&P2 w/ lab, and the intro to healthcare + lab that's required. I'll also be studying for the HESI and plan to take it around March too! Looking forward to hopefully starting the AO program next year! What program are you guys going to apply for? Thanks for making this thread! :]
  12. Good luck to everyone applying for Spring 2019 as deadline is Sept 1st! I will be applying for Fall term- ASN generic and accelerated option 2019. I have a BA in Psychology from FIU, so unfortunately no financial aid for me. Hoping to qualify for scholarships. I'll be taking pre req classes starting next week: Chem w/ lab, A&P1 with lab, and Intro to Ethics (needed if you plan to apply to FIU's RN to BSN online program). I'll be taking A&P2 w/ lab, Microbiology (w/lab as needed for FIU, not for MDC), and Intro to Healthcare + Lab in the Spring. Will also be studying for the HESI so I can take it in the Spring too. Yikes!! Is anyone else in my boat for Fall 2019?? I'll be checking this thread to see how you guys are doing! Best of luck to everyone!!
  13. Hi Cyn09, can you kindly tell me your stats in getting into the AO program? It seems that it may be easier to get into since fewer people apply? I'm finishing up prereqs this semester and taking the final prereqs in spring while studying for the HESI. I plan on applying to the AO program. I'm aware you can only take classes at the Medical campus.... how did you like the program? Thank you! And congratulations!
