Awesome! It's nice to talk to someone else who is starting the program in January. I just got my acceptance letter on Friday and sent in my deposit yesterday. Did you recieve any information after you sent in your deposit? I would love to have a list of supplies that we need soon, so I can get starting on buying them in advance.
I am so excited also! I know it's going to be alot of hard work, but so worth it in the end!

Hey! my name is michelle and I got accepted to the nursing program for january '09 as well. I had recieved papers also for health forms and I sent those in but thats it so far. I tried to contact someone about maybe finding out what books I need, but haven't gotten a response and prob won't since its still too early. I called the financial aid office and they said they are still trying to work on getting everything figured out for people starting in the fall and it would be at least a few more weeks. I am really excited and nervous but I can't wait to start! So congrats to both of you on the acceptance!
Hi Michelle,
Congrats on your acceptance as well! Have you already submitted FASFA for 08-09. I'm a little confused as to how finanical aid works for an accelerated program, I'm in the process of trying to figure it out, but haven't heard anything from MCPHS in regards to it. Have you?
Thanks,
Leanne
Hey leanne,
I submitted the FAFSA online but I haven't heard anything yet from MCPHS. I called becuase I'm anxious and want to know what I can get for financial aid so I can then apply for loans etc. But the guy on the phone Lynn I think his name was said that they weren't dealing with the aid yet for the people coming in for spring and just concentrating on the fall people for now. Said it would prob be a few more wks until they got through the fall financial aid distribution. I think financial aid works the same way for an accelerated program as it does for a regular program but I could be wrong- def something to look into. If I hear anything else I'll let you know.

I think the program costs around 43,000 for the 4 semesters. I went through tons of emotions also. I am very much looking forward to finding out more information about orientation and the different supplies that we need to buy. I hope they give us ample opportunity to buy everything.
I am not planning to work while in school. I spoke with someone at the school before I was accepted and they said that most students consider school their job and don't work. The program seems really intensive, so I am going to take out enough loans to pay my bills. I'll deal with the debt after I finish =0)
I want to work in pediatrics, especially pediatric oncology, after I finish school. I would eventually like to go back to school and get my phd and do some teaching. I have no clue where I want to work. For the firs job, I'll probably take what ever I can get, because I know it's not easy for graduates to get a job right out of school in MA. I might go out to NH or RI to get a job. I just want to get through the program first.
Phew, this is a long post! I look forward to getting to know everyone better, before the program starts in January!!
