Perhaps some people over there are attending McLennan College.

Hey, I'm attending MCC. I start the ADN Program on January 14th. Yahoo for us TEXANS...we rock!! Are you just starting or already in the program...holler at me!!

That's where I got my ADN in 2002--day program. I don't really know the evening program profs. I'm curious if the instructors are still there.

I don't know. They changed the evening program to the afternoon program because too many students were falling asleep! My neice graduated in 1999 and she had Sandy Rena is an instructor. Now, Dr. Rena is our Interim Program Director and she absolutely is awesome. I guess that I will find out who my intsructors are on January 14th. I went and got my scrubs and stethoscope and things like that yesterday. I'm so excited I can barely contain myself!!

:lol2: Yahoo for Nursing School!!

Dr. Reyna was cool, but after the 1st semester, I didn't see her very much. And she wasn't my clinical instructor.

BTW...good luck to you. It's a challenging program. They definitely will challenge you, but it's not impossible at all.

where do you get your scrubs..i guess since i am new to tx, i dont iunderstand!! she told me to get banana scrubs, but i have never heard of them.:monkeydance:

Another MCC nursing student here!!! I also start the program on the 14th. Can't wait!! I've been spending quite a bit of time on this board trying to soak up as much info. as I can!

Banana Scrubs is a brand of scrubs that they make in the Waco area. They have a store on Sanger Ave. by the old Target store. I guess that they want everyone wearing the same color so they make you buy Banana Scrubs to ensure that everyone looks uniform. But, thank goodness they are royal blue...Blue is my color...I was scared that they were going to make me wear green or yellow or some other awful color!! I bought everything I needed...scrubs, stethoscope, pen lights, lab jacket, patches, forceps, all of that good stuff there and my total was like $217. The stethoscope was over $70 by itself! I liked to died. I am frugal by nature and spending that kind of dough really had me nervous!! :uhoh3:

There website is bananascrubs.com You can get there phone number and stuff of their site.

Good to meet ya!! I guess that I will be seeing you in a few days!! How excited are you? Probably about as excited as I am!! PM me, maybe we met at Orientation. Did you get your shoes yet? I'm not sure what kind would be the best to get. I want to get them in time to break them in...I would imagine the wearing new shoes to clinicals is not a good idea;)

I am actually looking forward to the challenge. What really scares me most is the other students. After reading some posts on this board...about cutthroat students and cliques, I'm not sure what to expect. So far, my experience on campus has been wonderful. Bunches of good 'ol Texas friendly folks. Remember guys, no cutthroat business and no cliques...deal? I will be nice if you will be nice:lol2:

Blessings!!

y'all get to buy your own scrubs for clinical? Lucky you (all). We had these drab sky blueish gray things and had to buy white pants, but only a certain kind because some white pants are see-thru.
