Hello everyone!
I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.
Hi @bayliedynell... I was just wondering do our shoes have to be ALL white...I have these very nice and comfortable Dansko type nursing shoes I wear for work that are predominately white but with a black soles and stitching so I was just curious if these would work? Also I saw that the uniforms are Landau Royal Blue but does it matter what style? I really prefer a modern cut NOT tapered leg it looks more professional... I realize these questions seem so early and presumptuous (beings how I haven't even been accepted) but I am trying to get a feel for what I need and do a cost analysis since I will be paying for everything out of pocket...Oh also what style/color of jacket are we allowed to wear and do we wear our scrubs for ALL classes or just the lab/clinicals? Thank you so much for your time!! I really appreciate it :)
The shoes should be ok as long as you can barely see the black. The Landau unfortunately do have to be the same style. I've never seen anyone get away with wearing another style. I'm not sure what you mean by modern/tapered but the ones we wear look very professional. Only wear scrubs to clinical and during labs. No jacket on during clinicals but you can wear a long sleeved white shirt underneath if you prefer.
Thanks so much for the info!! I appreciate it. My shoes will probably not work then..good to know... but that's ok I will just add it into my expenses. I was just looking online at Landau and saw some straight cut/slightly flared pants and thought they looked nice and were reasonably priced but if we have a specific style then that's ok also. Thanks again

It does not make sense to me for them to round the scores up and then try to break ties in some unfair way like ss numbers, or last name. Why not just leave the decimals alone and go by that? Wouldn't that be more fair?
