MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

Im so mad I got into a tettible crash and now im completing my english course at leisure as long as its before feb dont know what gpa I will have yet… hoping a 3.7 tommorow is when I began super studying im praying for everyone

Keeping our fingers crossed

So I re-took the HESI today and scored a 90. If this years scores are comprable to last years score, I may have a fighting chance! But I don't want to count my eggs to soon.

Would everyone be willing to share their GPA and HESI scores here? So that we can keep a running inventory of the competition at least amongst this group.

I will be applying with, I believe, a 3.6 GPA and a 90 HESI for a total of 90 points averaged between them. April CANNOT come soon enough. Good luck to everyone taking the HESI in the next weeks!

Yeah, I would like to know as well. I will post my HESI score as soon as I take it. Congratulations, Kristi! So far, as I said earlier, GPA ended up being 3.93.

Wow congrats on your amazing hesi score. My gpa will be a 3.61.

Congrats on your score, I'm waiting to take intro to nursing then I'll be able to take my Hesi. So I guess I won't meet the deadline for 2015 since I have to take that class still.

Kristi, did you study long for the hesi? Any advice?

I studied for like 4 days straight. It's all actually pretty straight forward, the HESI review book is a great prep book except for the A. and P. section... my lowest score was in A. and P. Which is where I focused most while studying.

Thats great!! Which section did you begin with?

I started with anatomy and physiology thinking that was what I was most prepared for and that it wouldn't discourage me.. WRONG. None the less I did ok over all, I think I would suggest saving your weakest subject for last.. but at the same time, testing first on something you think you'll do well in that turns out to be more difficult can really throw you off... so maybe worst subjects first.

Congrats kristi I know I probally wont do thst wellliI have been studying tho… I studied last yr n only got a 82 so I hope I do better I will post gpa and hesi as soon as I know it . kristi do you rmbr any anatomy questions that were on the test that were tough? And advice or study tips :-)
