Okay it is a long time until the letters go out and we are all wondering if our HESI score was good enough. So let's be silly and play detectives and see if we can get an idea of where we stand.

For 1000 students with around 30 seats per room, there was around 34 classes.

1. Greent52389- 1/7/09, Rm 130, 81.73 average

2. Shannonmarie7- 1/7/09, Rm 115, 81.75 average

Repy with your test date, number of the room you were in, and the average score from your class and I will update this page to see what some of the overall class averages are.:smokin:

Shannonmarie7,

I'm hoping that for the professions sake that the cheaters bomb in the pre-req stage and never make it to the actual program. I definitely think that he had some bad experiences or they beat into his head to catch cheaters if he sees them. I am currently a Baker student with 3 more classes to go before I can take the NET test there and apply for Fall 09' or worst case Spring 10'. I would love to go to MCC but I do not think that I have a chance because I have a lower GPA than most that applied. MCC is taking my last 18 credit hours from Baker which is Micro, A&P 2, Oral Communication and Intro Algebra. I am thinking best case scenario for me is Baker Spring 2010. At Baker they give you an extra point if you do not make it the first semester that you apply so I will have all the high people that did not make it the first time to go up against, which is tough for a first time applicant to beat unless you have a 4.0 and a great NET score. If that doesn't work I am off the HFCC to get my pre-reqs done and get on the wait list.

How does the NET compare to the HESI? Do you feel you are ready for it? It has way more math than the Hesi doesn't it?

I will help answer that. The average on the NET is about 70, the average for the HESI is about 80.. maybe a little more.

For me personally, My score was almost the same distance on the two tests. On the NET I scored an 85 and on the HESI I scored a 96.

For me the reading comprehension was more difficult on the NET. The math was easier. The NET only took the scores of those two areas to figure the composite score. The HESI used scores from Vocab, Grammar, Math, and Reading to figure the score.

It is hard to compare them, because they aren't taking into account all the same things.

I'm worried about how little time you are given in each section for the NET where as the HESI gives you 4 hours to complete all the sections. I think the main thing I need to work on is the reading comprehension, I scored lower on it than the math, which is surprising because I am normaly better in that area. I am hoping the NET reading section is not as confusing because I was like 'what the'....on some of the HESI's.

Gemberly, is the reading section only reading comprehension like the HESI's or did they throw some grammar and vocab in there also? The vocab is where I messed up, it really brought my score down on the HESI, well that and the stupid conversions....lol.

I will not be taking the NET until the spring.

They test you on other things besides the math and reading comp on the NET, but they only use the scores from those two sections to figure your score.

The reading comprehension was harder than the HESI. I scored a 76 in that section on the NET, but only missed one on the Math portion, which brought my score up considerably. It was like they were trying to trick you.

Unless the paper tells you that they will use the scores from the other sections, I wouldn't bother to even study for them on that exam. It would be a waste of your time.

All of the math on the NET is multiple choice, and no calculators.

It was the time constraint that made it so stressful. I probably would have done a lot better on the NET if the time factor wouldn't have been an issue.

Make sure you get the ERI book from the school for the NET. And I found the ERI online test (you have to pay $15) was almost exactly how the NET went. The questions for the reading were just like those questions and with the math, I swear some of the questions were the same.

The ERI guide is the smaller white one that is at the book store? They only give you 30 mins for each section? I think I read that on here somewhere.

No calculator on the NET? And it's timed?! Depending on what kind of math they are testing you on, that could be ridiculously hard!

I took the hesi on the 8th at mcc. I don't know my class average in the sense that there isn't one, single score that I saw. It was broken down this way. Grammar 86%, Math 83%, Reading Comp 82%, Vocab 76% for my class average. Based on the bottom rung last year I should make it in, but who knows how this years played out.

I feel sick over my score. I was doing great until my blood sugar dropped and then I couldn't even think. I have a 4.0 gpa and got a 90.74 on the hesi a2. Not great, but not terrrible. I bombed on the reading comprehension. It was the last thing that I took and I was really sick by that point. Well, I guess my score it what it is and there is nothing that I can do about it but pray.

What's the word on the street as far as scores. Do people tend to be scoring higher or lower this year?

Tami, I think that is a perfectly respectable score. Good luck! I can barely stand waiting for the letters.

Shannon, yes the small one.

TS, I think the math was pretty simple. A lot of figuring percents. You know, x is 80% of 150. Decimals. Simple math. I paid for the online test, and found other test that were similar, plus there are two in the ERI book, I did them over and over and over until I was comfortable with doing every kind of problem they had, and I only got one wrong, and as it was a borrowing error, it was obviously an error on my part. LOL

It's tough to keep thinking when your body checking out. Keep your spirit up; you still may be in the ball park. To get a better of other Hesi scores you might want to check out the thread on Hesi and MCC. Good luck.

Don't be too hard on yourself. There will always be people who did better than you, and who did worse than you. What's important is that you tried and did good for you!
