Hello! I wanted to create this post to communicate with others that are applying for Mayo Clinic's Summer iii externship. I saw that there were similar posts for previous years, and I would love to get to know others that are applying! Look forward to hearing from you all ?

I am having the hardest time finding the application! I found the program a few months back and then decided I would wait until I was on a break from school to submit my application, but now I can't find where to submit it. From what I remember the application was open until January 15th. Did you apply to the phoenix location?

Hey! I just submitted my application this past weekend and i'm not super confident about getting in, especially after reading the other forums and how high some of their GPAs were ? I have about 4 years of CNA experience and I (think) my essay was pretty good so fingers crossed! I applied to the Rochester MN location.

How long did you all make the essay? I am writing it now and since there aren't any restrictions on it I don't know how long I should make it.

I’m aiming for one page. Page and a half max. You have to remember like a thousand people apply and they have to read them. When I used to work in HR I hated essays that were too long.

I found it under the Mayo Clinic Careers Page. If you type in Summer III it should pop up for the Rochester location, but I'm not quite sure about the Pheonix location. Wish you the best of luck!

I wish y'all the best of and I know this late but for the essays if you feel as if you're not conveying your story in 1 page then write more. My essay was 2 and a half pages and I can't fathom shortening it ?

Hiiii! I submitted my app recently, really excited to see how the next couple of weeks unfold. We find out by the end of this month if we passed the initial screening right? Hope schools going great for you all!

Does anyone know I’m how many people apply and how many get in?

Just going off past years: usually 700-1000 apply. Around January 29th they email the top 100 that they moved to the next round and have to send in some additional things. Then around Valentine’s Day about 50 people will get an email that they were accepted.
