Mayo Clinic Summer iii Externship 2020

Yeah, my gut is telling me Wednesday too! I know they send emails in alphabetical order so I won’t be one of the firsts to know. I’m guessing second round will find out the 14th since it’s a Friday. And yeah, I love wounds so thinking I may like burn ICU. I don’t think Mayo has one but we have a good burn center at the hospital I’m an extern at right now and they’re gonna let me shadow there in March. Well sounds like not many many of us have experience as a CNA so hopefully that’s a common thing for applicants.

    CHOP Nurse Externship Summer 2019

Following this thread in case @clemsonnurse responds! Getting nervous. The lady told me it’s a two hour interview so that I could plan flights. I land at 1 am, interview at 11 am, then land back at home at midnight for class at 8 am. I’m going to be exhausted! @adib0917 I found out last Monday evening. It’s an in person interview.

Same! I am thinking there’s no way I’m in the top 5% of applicants to get it. But you don’t know if you don’t try!

No problem! I used to work in HR so I know all too well how the systems work. Now I’m just anxious for the 29th!

Hey! It’s just an automated email from their HR system applicants receive once they change your application status to under review. You get that with any position you apply to.

Nurse Candidate Program and DUINS (Navy)

I spoke with my recruiter yesterday and he said they must have done only 2 years so far. The system shows all 1 years as “board in session”

Yes! Good luck everyone! Also, I know in the last some will find out 3 weeks before others. Not sure how it works on when they call who.

Just saw your personal statement. Yours destroyed mine! Mine was literally just a paragraph because my guy told me to keep it brief. Now you have me scared! My statement is terrible next to that

Just requested to join! I don’t think I have many questions left. Just wishing we knew already! Hope we all get it!

Oh yeah, I’m not in it for the money that gets paid. It is nice though!

See, I don’t think any recruiters are ever on the same page! Who knows which are right. I’m at a 4 year school but don’t think that should matter. He said we swear in in January and receive the signing bonus then but no monthly stipend till May so would technically be one year. And he told me you apply and they tell you one or two year by where they want you. Who knows which is true. Yeah the the approximate date to find out is nov 1. Board meets mid/late October. Last year they found out a day or to before or on Nov 1. The year before they didn’t find out till after thanksgiving. I’m hoping we get the earlier! I know not everyone is notified the same day so one of us may no before another. Not sure why it works like that.

As of right now they’ve had conference calls about NCP but the final number of apps hasn’t been made known. My guess is they may not ever release the info to recruiters

My recruiter went through NCP theirself and my people I’ve interviewed with stay in touch and now are my FB friends so I know so much through them. He said that it’s a whole picture that gets you accepted. He said past medical experience (I have none) shouldn’t matter because he’s had applicants who’ve been accepted with and without. And he said don’t stress much about GPA his last year only had a 3.2. He thinks interviews are the most important followed by personal statement but he said the board is different each year and they each love their own thing. As of around August 20th there was only 40 apps which is why they extended the deadline. But that doesn’t include people like me who were held up in MEPS waiting for waiver approvals. Mine got submitted early September. For those who are graduating May 2021 are you sure your recruiter said you could get 2 year? My recruiter said I’d only be eligible for 1 year because payments don’t start till May and May 20-21 is only a year. Either way he said your app is reviewed with everyone’s and if you’re eligible for two years you may be asked for 1 or 2 years depending on spots. Hoping he may be wrong and I get offered a two year.

I spoke to my recruiter yesterday! They had a conference call early this week but they didn’t release the final number of applicants. He will let me know when/if they do. He said they never extend the deadline, however, so that shows how few applicants there are this year than in the past. Therefore, he said there is a higher percentage chance that you’ll be accepted this year. So that’s good news for all of us!
