Hello Everyone!
I'm starting a thread so applicants for the Mayo Clinic AZ nurse residency program for July 2019 can communicate about the process. After reading other threads, it seems like a really good way to stay connected and ask question! Well applications just closed so let's see how this goes!

The waiting is just killer, I'd love to at least get an interview. Even if I didn't get the job I would still love the experience.
I feel the same way. I won't get my BSN til August and have an ADN and my RN license. I read conflicting info on the FAQ page. The requirement says must have a BSN or MSN prior to start of program, they will only accept ADN if already a Mayo employee but down the page, it has a general message mentioning that those with an ADN must have a BSN within 3 years of hire.
I had an interview in February with a Banner Tucson recruiter (who wanted a march start but I couldnt move out of state til July so I needed to reapply closer to May). She told me hospitals in the phoenix area will only hire BSN and that the Banner in Tucson will hire ADNs. There's nothing to lose in applying but I know my chance with Mayo are very very slim.

Hey! How did the interview go?! I hope it went well for you ? I was wondering if a specific unit was going to interview us, or if it is just a general interview and then they will place us into a specific unit?
Thanks!!!

Honestly, it was the most difficult interview Ive ever had! It was a general interview and you rank your preferences upon arrival, but she kind of caught me off guard because I put critical care as my number one and she told me I wasn’t eligible since I didn’t have preceptorship experience in ICU. So I had to re rank everything. They were very nice but I was SO nervous! They said we should hear the first or 2nd week of May, and that interviewed will be done by end of April. Let me know how your interviews went!!!!

How exciting!! That is really nice that is a general interview. What kinds of questions did they ask, if you don't mind me asking? Like a time you dealt with a difficult patient and things like that? My interview is next Wednesday so I will definitely let you know once I go! Yay, I am glad that we hear back soon in May!!
For those that have already had an interview...what type of questions do they ask? I have heard that the majority of questions are scenario based questions, not the typical behavioral questions. The few nursing interviews that I have done have been fairly easy with no scenario questions, so I am having difficulty preparing for this interview. So, I am wondering how detailed the questions have been so far?
