apparently, ive been waiting for other people to start a support group for may nclex takers.....but no....so here i am.....
im taking my nclex on the 7th of may...hopefully, i pass this time. im tired of living a non-RN life......
Haha yeah I know exactly what you mean. I'm all brain powered up at the beginning of my study session then PLOP goes my brain after a few hours.
So what I'm doing now is guessing the questions and then reviewing all of them....all the answers and rationales....and writing down questions(condensed) that are very unfamiliar with me. There is a "readiness" test that I hope I have time to finish...I guess that'll determine where I'm at but I feel I have to go though my textbook to really brush on some of these concepts I never even heard of. Happy studying to all!
you can do it......if you feel exhausted , rest for a while and study again...just dont forget to rest....so that your mind can rest too....i am planning to take it by may 10....i havent scheduled yet but i'll see if i am ready....I also printed out the summary review by the april group, its a good one.... i had been carrying it every where i go.
Yes it is pretty good. I plan on printing that out once I finish this course....this Kaplan course takes forever! Btw, I have the option of retaking the course half off the original price(up to a year) but I really don't want to have to do that. I think what I'm going to do is buy the kaplan books, and review Saunders...do Suzannes first tip and test myself with the Cd's...and if I still feel shaky, I'll go ahead and do her plan. This process of studying for the exam may take me longer than expected but I don't care if it takes me a few more months, I want to pass. I had a year off classes before the last 5 week externship, so that also adds to my reluctance of taking this test real soon.
Good luck to everyone!

marikina. batch 06. miss home a lot!
omg, i miss home too, esp my 2 kids are there....that is why i really need to pass this.....for my kids back home....i know we will pass....and i am studying like crazy now...i can even dream about nclex....hopefully by june....we'll look back on this with smiles on our face.
..i plan to buy that kaplan qbank, i hear its 300 bucks for 1100 questions. so i test on may 7th -sooo i want to do about 100 questions per day so ill buy it about 12 days before i test, so i can rest/ not study on that last day.-i do other questions from saunders. lipincott etc..but they seem way to easy , compared to the nclex, kaplan is more like that.
i used to study for hours a day, do like 200-300 questions per day--i got really burned out my 1st and 2nd time, now-im pacing myself-i study but not as intensly, i do more "fun" stuff for myself and with my son.-i realize that i dont need to do X amount of questions per day, (although NCLEX ppl say a person should do at leat 5000-10000 questions before the test)..I know im WAAAYY above that.

from the feedback of my friends who used kaplan's qbank....its hard but some of the q's on their actual test were similar to the qbank. although its hard, i think my masterplan as i am running out of time is to do 200 q's a day....get the rhythm and dynamics of the q and a's....
