Wow, I haven't logged on in a while and I feel horrible. I hope all my fellow May test-takers are well on their way and hopefully have the NCLEX behind them.

It's been less than a month since I passed and I've been busy emailing my resume to nurse recruiters here in NY and looks like I may get into an OR Residency Program at HSS in NYC...we shall see! All that in less than a month! I can't imagine how much more hectic it'll be when I'm actually working.

Anyway, that's my update on myself. More importantly, I'll be logging on more just to see how everyone's been doing...this site is GREAT! :) I'll be on the "new grad/OR nursing forums" for now...

Take care you guys...:heartbeat

Congrats BUNNYHUNTER!

I passed at 265 as well. Another one combats the NCLEX! YAY!

Oh, I see you're filipina like me! I don't know much tagalog but...celebrate na tayo!!! Hihihi. =)

Ooooooo I just love hearing Tagalog. I want to learn a few words and hopefully some more :)

Nice to hear from you Kei! Wow what a great future you have planned :)

So many people involved in healthcare are Filipino. Every facility I go to I hear Tagalog. Just love it!

When I went into the Health care field I thought Spanish would be the most prominent language spoken but really it is Tagalog! :D

Someone taught me thank you but now I forget it. Something like salad LOL

Salamat? not sure. I'm going to have to get a program and teach myself.

What am I doing with myself these days? Still working in the ER as a tech but looking to apply to a position at Kaiser in Urgent Care.

Right now I"m taking Micro. Interesting but I wish I was done already. I want to apply to the LVN to RN bridge at the local CC. Micro is the last class I have to take to be eligible.

Take care May family and don't be afraid to check in once in a while! :)

FAIRIEWAND

i just received my eligibility from the board of lvn. (I'll be taking both pn and rn exam).I was wondering what topic to focus on?

Specializes in med/surg/tele/neuro/rehab/corrections.

Not sure what you should focus on. My friend said she didn't have OB on her test while others said they had lots of those questions. Some said they had lots of peds but I didn't. Others said they had the drug Fosamax but I knew I wouldn't get that one because I know that one well! LOL

I had 2 questions on schizophrenia (one was med related the other was a positive sign like auditory hallucination), 2 on pancreatitis (one was Cullen's sign which is periumbilical discoloration), 2 on dehydrations (one was SATA on the s/s of) I had one questions on PCN and pt gets a rash what other medication would be a concern? Kefelx I think becuase PCN and cephalosporins if reacting to one will react to the other. One was what kind of pt do you put in a single room. I'm not sure but I think its the guy who will get the kidney transplant because isn't his immune system suppressed?

I did have a questions on Prozac however and what condition it relieves or something like that.

You do need to know about counting input and output. And you should know that one ounce =30ml so you can add stuff up. And look it up but I don't think you should add up food that is pureed.

And take LVN test first and then RN and come back here and tell us if you think the LVN test is easier. I want to know because I am going to become an RN and am wondering if the test is so much harder. I just want to know. Thanks :)

are there favorite topics on NCLEX when it comes to diseases? like endocrine disorders? childhood diseases?

I took the NCLEX-RN twice and was able to passed it. For me, on my previous exams(both) it seems i have encountered a lot of Psyche, diabetic insipidus, MI and infectious diseases.

yeah, i did it with 265..if you would just read my previous posts during my waiting period, i was really anxious & almost hopeless...that's why i owe everyone in this thread a great big hug...they supported me all the way..just as you did..hehehe!

i never thought i would pass on my first take. it surely is a big break for me in my career..i just thought im too young be blessed with this gift..LOL! oh, by the way, i'll be celebrating my 22nd birthday this july 5! i'll be celebrating my victory party on the same date as well..everyone's invited!LOL!

too much too soon!...oh well, everything happens for a reason. God is really good..

patients allergic to penicillin will also have the same reaction to cephalosporin because cephalosporins are structurally similar to penicillin.
