Hello everyone! Just wondering how many of you are applying to the CEP program this coming December 2020?  I couldn't find a post for the upcoming Maricopa CEP application period so I figured I'd start a post to see who will be applying and if you would like to share your score and schools of choice.

I will be applying to Grand Canyon University with:

First choice: Glendale Community College (weekend cohort)

Second Choice: Estrella Mountain Community College

HESI A2 scores:

Englist - 95.33%

Math - 98%

GPA: 3.84

No prior degree

Overall points: 86.47

Points: 81.1655

University Choice: Ottawa

HESI English 91.33%

HESI Math 96%

I have my fingers crossed for this application's acceptance but will be getting an associates degree in the Spring and retaking a couple B-graded classes to try to boost my points for the next application period

Hello everyone!

I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. So I submitted my application on 12/28 and I didn't receive an email with my timestamp or anything. So on 1/7, I emailed a CEP counselor from GWCC and she emailed back saying that she had entered my application that morning. I never received another email confirmation with my timestamp. So I'm wondering if anyone else received an "official" confirmation email, or what your guys' looked like? I just want to be 100% sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks!

Are you asking about time stamp for the “traditional” application?  I just submitted my CEP application last Thursday and still waiting for a response regarding about that... but back in September I submitted my “traditional” application to EMCC, they sent me an email saying they forwarded my application to EMCC nursing director to be signed off and enter to the system.  Then the Maricopa Nursing data system sent me a confirmation in my student email that they received the application and it’s been entered in the Maricopa nursing Data base.  I didn’t get an  email with specific time stamp... I emailed EMCC and asked if that was the only confirmation I would get that my traditional application is in and they said yes... so basing it on the email my time stamp for traditional nursing will be September 20, 2020.

EMCC did tell me that it could take awhile for the Maricopa date base to send confirmation email(but they will always back date it your application).  I was surprised when I received the confirmation after 5 days.

Yes, I am asking about the CEP application. It's good to know I am not alone in the confirmation for the CEP application taking a while. I'm sure they're busy with everyone's application. I just figured I'd ask on here since on the CEP page for MCC, it says that "you will receive confirmation from the Nursing Advisor confirming your application has been submitted and your timestamp." It gave me the impression that there would be some sort of standard email everyone got that provided a confirmation/timestamp. I could definitely be reading into it too much but I just wanted to see what everyone else received.

Thanks for the reply

I received my confirmation email a few hours after submitting, Dec. 18 (at PVCC).  I would imagine it is a generic format that all schools send out. Curious why you have not gotten it, but it is the start of the new semester, so maybe they are busy (!?).  Here is what I received in its entirety:

Thanks for submitting your CEP application. Your application has been processed. Please read the following carefully as it may impact your admission to the CEP:

1.       Submitting your CEP application is NOT a guarantee you will be accepted to the CEP. Receiving this email does NOT mean you have been accepted to the CEP.

2.       Even if you are accepted by the university, you are NOT accepted to the CEP until you are accepted to a MaricopaNursing Program.

a.       Applications are scored by the following 100-point rubric:

-GPA calculated by the university you are applying to, not Maricopa.                40 points possible

-HESI A2/ENG Comp Score      35 possible points

-HESI A2/MAT Score      15 possible points

-Previous Degree:  Associates 2.5/ Bachelors 5/ Masters 7.5/ PHD 10

-Highest degree awarded additional points. 10 possible points max.

-5 points deducted if you have previously failed or withdrew failing from a nursing program.

**Degree must be on transcript with conferment date degree was awarded.

b.    Each applicant will be given a total point score and ranked. The students who have the highest number of total points are the ones who are selected.

3.    If you are accepted, you will be notified through your Maricopa email, which is your MEID [email protected], so it is suggested that you check your Maricopa email regularly, so you don’t miss any communication from us.

a.       It is not guaranteed that you will receive your first campus choice or your first cohort choice.

4.       Acceptance emails will continue to be sent until all seats are filled.

5.       Our District Office will send declination emails out approximately one month after the acceptance emails are sent out.

a.        If you are not accepted, you will need to resubmit a CEP application during the next intake period (December 1st – January 31st OR April 1st – May 31st)

b.       If students are not accepted to the CEP, they will keep their spot in the traditional nursing que.

6.       Please keep in mind that during the time email notifications are being sent for students to accept or decline, there may be several mailings, so please be patient while all seats are being filled. Dates may fluctuate slightly due to unforeseen circumstances.

7.       If you have not heard anything two months after the last date to apply, please contact the Nursing District Office directly at [email protected].

I think schools processing time depend on the load of applicants they get...  I submitted my CEP application to GCC. I wonder how long it took for others to get a confirmation from them...

Thank you for replying! That is exactly what I was expecting to receive. Especially since I received (what appeared to be) a generic confirmation email when I submitted my traditional application. It's weird that I never received any sort of confirmation email for the CEP. I only received confirmation that my application was submitted because I sent an email inquiring about it. I'm not sure if I should just wait it out or call/email. I would hate to have an issue unresolved and find out after the application cycle has closed. Although according to the CEP advisor from GWCC, my application is submitted and I do have email proof from her that it was submitted.

Hey yall!! Got my time stamp today yay!! First choice MCC,  2nd CGCC and 3rd Gateway evening's. I'm also applying to GCU.  I ended up applying with 80.4 points. I'm super anxious and ready!!

Hello! I applied for the CEP program on Dec.2

First choice: MCC

University of choice: ASU

GPA: 3.54

HESI Eng: 86

HESI Math: 100

I was initially discouraged because before classes went online due to COVID, I had a 4.0 GPA, in that same semester I was taking 5 courses at MCC in the Spring, all of them being prereqs, and 2 of them were Microbio an
