Hello everyone! Just wondering how many of you are applying to the CEP program this coming December 2020? I couldn't find a post for the upcoming Maricopa CEP application period so I figured I'd start a post to see who will be applying and if you would like to share your score and schools of choice.
I will be applying to Grand Canyon University with:
First choice: Glendale Community College (weekend cohort)
Second Choice: Estrella Mountain Community College
HESI A2 scores:
Englist - 95.33%
Math - 98%
GPA: 3.84
No prior degree
Overall points: 86.47

good luck to everyone! I feel so nervous because I don’t have that high of points but I’m praying that many of us can get in!
I was told by my sister that ASU only the best of the best get in, I don’t know if this is true? I struggled to pick a university because I wanted one that I would have a better chance of getting into! I don’t know if that makes sense and if our points have to be higher in order to get accepted by ASU? Any advice or input is helpful to help ease my mind during this stressful time! Thank you guys!!
If it helps ease your mind at all, the nursing advisor at MCC stated that it is not the university that decides who is accepted—it is Maricopa. If Maricopa accepts you, whichever university you chose accepts you as well.
Hi! I applied a little over two weeks ago and heard back from PVCC last week for the CEP program. My choices are PVCC, GWCC, SCC with NAU.
GPA: 3.3
HESI: Math - 92% English - 94%
Previous Degree: Bachelors
Total: 84.7
Really nervous and excited! My file has been really messed up (I had two files) and the process of merging them has been tough! I am getting reassurance that everything is good on the backend - but still nerve racking!
Hi Everyone!
I have been lurking, but haven’t posted until now. I took my HESI yesterday and submitted my applications for Maricopa Nursing and CEP today. Yes, I like to procrastinate. I applied to MCC, SCC, and GWCC. The university I selected was ASU. My stats are:
GPA: 3.69
HESI Math: 90%
HESI English: 93.33%
Previous Degree: Associates Degree
Overall Points: 85.5
I have noticed a lot of people on here have amazing scores! Let’s all try to remain confident! I read the entire Spring 2020 thread and it seemed the volume of CEP applications were down significantly due to COVID-19. I’m not sure if that’s still the case, but my general advisor told me that Fall 2020 enrollment was still low. I hate the anticipation so this is going to be a long month!

okay thanks. I reached out to them because I put MCC as my only preferred placement. I would like to add gateway to that list, however I don't know if I am able to do that after already submitting my application. Ig we'll see.

I think you can. This is what they sent me after submitting my general application. I didn’t see anything like that after submitting my CEP, but definitely ask ASAP. They haven’t started placing yet:
Please read the following carefully as they may impact your admission to the Nursing Program:
To change anything on your application, including your list of schools, please contact the Nursing District Office at [email protected]
For information about your place on the waiting list, please call the Nursing District Office Voicemail Line at 480.731.8264

I believe that email address is for when you want to change something with the traditional application. To be honest I have no idea how you can update the CEP application especially if it’s already been processed. I know with GCC’s instructions it was stated that they will not update any score once the application has been processed, but I don’t know if GCC(or MCC) will do the same for updating the Community College choices.
I would try to contact them ASAP and hopefully you get your answer before 5pm tomorrow since that’s when the application deadline ends.

Yeah I too read that they won't update any scores once it has been processed. Hopefully that doesn't apply to school placements. Thanks guys.
