aint sure if there is already an existing march 2011 test takers' support group. nonetheless, i ought to just create one.. study tips and advices, as well as encouragement, motivation, support, and prayers from each and everyone of us may play a big role in our preparation for this battle. let's all be rn's!! good luck to us!! may the good lord be with us all in our way to passing the nclex!!
Hi everyone. I am testing in mid-March and wish I was done already! All of my classmates are passing, mostare rocking 75 questions. That both relieves me (if they can do it, so can I) and terrifies me (what if I am the one that fails?!)I am not doing any paid review program, just the books everyone has already mentioned - Saunders, Cram, LaCharity and Davis. I bounce around and should probably be more systematic.
Good luck to everyone!
I'm right there with you on the fact that most of my class is passing at 75. I keep thinking, What if I'm the one that fails? But we just need to push that thought out of our heads. Take mine on March 4th. Trying to stay positive! Reading post on here is very encouraging and motivating! WE CAN DO IT!!!!:yeah:Best I can tell is that the sample exams on slideshare are from the Kaplan Q trainers. Haven't compared question for question to my Kaplan account but it does look legit. Use them, they can only help. By the way Kaplan qusestions are hard and I've heard that they are harder than NCLEX:confused:, so they do make for good practice. Shoot for 60% or greater on each one and good luck!
That makes me feel a lil better, because those questions kick my butt! I am encouraged by the fact that when I do miss them. the correct answer is always the last one that I eliminated. The lectures are an awesome review but after 4 hours straight of it, I couldn't handle anymore for the day lol
Still waiting on my ATT So I'm just gonna keep plugging away on these questions. March is almost here!!!!
Hello all soon RNs, just wanna share my experience with NCLEX I did last week. Study but remember the main focus of NCLEX is to check how safe you are as RN. I didn't know what to think as I left test center, I felt like I passed and failed at the same time, no clue, but I read some other NCLEX takers suggestions that if you got tons fo select all apply you are on a good way to passing. It was my third time taking NCLEX, for third time, I have not done any questions, as to sitting and just answering bunch of study questions and not really knowing where your focus is. What helped me most was taking a book, comprehensive Saunders and from the beggining to the end reading every section writing out what info I forgot in a short sentence. Then, DO TONS OF Prioritization questions from website or from Lachestry book, YOU WILL SEE TONS AND TONS of them, every NCLEX test does give them to you, and to tell you the truth sometimes you read the question and think what??? how can a single one be an answer its not even see all answers but seeing none as an answer had it all. I got more than 30 questions of select all apply, that hit me hard, bunch I would say at least 20 to 25 who you should see first or who you should call back first? tons of infection control staff KNOW all airborne, droplet and contact precautions, medications I never heard of-few of those, new alternative question where box you have to open, and the rest straight forward NCLEX questions we all had on our nursing exams. So, sounds easy...nahh. And I did no questions at all except free NCLEX online test just seeing if I missed info in the book. However, if you never did prioritization questions and delegation, you should do it now, they will hit you hard, thats where I think tons of us struggle. Good luck to each and one of you, and it took me less than 2 weeks to go over all of Saunders or even better if you took Kaplan and have that huge blue Kaplan book, read it all, wont take you too long, just do it daily it helped me lots. You think you did it in school, well when you sit in front of NCLEX, the only info you probably will remember is what you reviewed. Good luck, I passed pearson vue trick worked for me and will for you. So, study do not pass a day without studying, and my advise for you DO NOT TAKE A BREAK A DAY BEFORE, its the most dumbest thing I heard of, you got info in your brain and you will go partying the day before test???what, but I heard a lot of it. STUDY on your day before exam, go to sleep early and wake up early and study more. Few questions I answered were information I read over just that early morning, and what you got to lose, but you will feel dumb spending a day of nothing prior taking test and failing it, done that on my second failure. This was my third time, and I didn't study like crazy but I did touch up on every topic we ever studyied and read everything I could, and doing questions not knowing info wont help you bit. As for answereing questions, here is my advise, first go assess vs implement, then ABCs, and the last one Maslows always physiological needs first, if you got a guy in pain with rate of 5 and someone needing commode, you do commode first!!! There is no trick, if you dont know content answering questions wont help you. GOOD LUCK!!!:hpygrp::)
I got a book from the library called Strategies for Test Success for passing the NCLEX. It is written by Linda Silvestri, same author as Saunders. It is a super easy read and has some great tips and strategies and it come with questions and a CD, too. I haven't tried the CD, but the book is worth a look if you can find it. It seems set up to be skimmed.
I FINALLY got my ATT! Long story short, I just graduated in December, had to wait on which state to apply to because my husband is in the Army, we didn't know where we were going, then I found out we were going to Texas...submitted my stuff...messed up my fingerprints which caused the delay but I got it today! And just scheduled my test for mid-March! I was already freaking out when I scheduled, I can only imagine how I will be once I go take my test
xoxoxo, I'm right there with you. I take mine on the 4th. Just take a breath and try to relax. Increasing anxiety doesn't help. I started to do the same earlier today because the more I study the dumber I feel but I have put my trust in God and trying to stay confident. Think positive thoughts. You can do it! Good luck and God Bless!
