both your posts inspire me

as a new student im extremely scared of college, and im going to be a cashier hoping to work at least 30hrs a week to get some cash

your posts have helped a lot, thank you for contributing and keep on contributing i want to hear more!!!

Aw thanks! You'll do great, don't be scared! Obviously you're already trying to get ahead of the game and figure out how much you need to study, so you will be plenty prepared and get awesome grades! Good luck to you, I'm sure you'll do fine!:D

a took api and ii, chemistry, intro to algebra, algebra, cell bio, english, some health care classes, and i am now taking micro. i only study for a few hours a day or two before test. with ap i, i used to start studying 3-4 days before test, and with cell bio (8 wks) i really had to study every day (3-4 hrs) because it was accelerated. otherwise, chem, algebra, micro, apii, just a day before test. in the beginning, i really hated this bad habit, but over time, i realized it works for me (i have as) and i just kind of made peace with it. i work full time, have a husband and two kids and enjoy my life. i just don't like the idea of studying every single day.

i am taking an accelerated a&p class condensed into 6 weeks.

so basically studying everyday from (3-5) hours, mostly 5 hours all together. i also have a 2 year old, so i try to make sure i can get all my study time in before 5pm when i pick him up from preschool.

thankfully, i do not have to work, my darling husband is taking care of us :D

Hi there,

I'm currently taking A&P2 and an Anthropology class. I also work between 40 to 60 hours a week (due to the job...ugh).

I study about 2 hours every other day to give my brain a rest. I'm doing well so far.

Spring semester I had Gen Bio and Gen Chem together. Worked the same about of hours and got A's in both

Took A&P 1 in the summer (8 week course) and studied almost everyday for 3 hours a day to keep the A in the class until the week of finals...(ended up in the hospital...and missed my lab final so it dropped me to a 89% - B)

What has helped me tremendously is to re-write my notes from class. My teacher uses power points so i write notes all over them. Keeping things in order and being organized with my notes is what keeps my grades up.

I also read try to read 2-3 sections of a chapter a night then use my onenote on the computer to summarize the sections before going to bed.

I took general biology and intermediate algebra in a five week summer session (June) and studied about two hours a day. I took A&P I in a five week summer session (July) and studied about four hours a day. Right now I have micro, A&P II and an upper division elective and I study a few hours a day. I think that the length of the class makes a huge difference in how much you study. I also think that reviewing your notes after class and the next day is very helpful. I like to read the few pages that we cover in the book for that day's lecture as well, just for some additional insight.
